"Enjoy being part of a bureaucracy, and lost in the shuffle. Also enjoy vastly overpaying for that experience as one of the most expensive public schools. Do go To school in Burlington if you enjoy Vermont but go to Champlain where you will have an awesome degree and placement in a career. If it’s about being exploited financially or you want to waste your families resources on a poor school then this is the best place to attend. They are the worst in the financial aid office, make sure the information you are given is correct and watch them like a hawk. They do not have your best interest in mind."

"The University of Vermont's campus is what drew me in but my program ended up being just as great as the view of Lake Champlain. I quickly found a support system within my college and the connections I made with faculty allowed me to participate in internships and jobs on campus. The faculty all went out of their way to be available for students and were extremely helpful when I was preparing to apply for graduate school. I thought the size of the school was great because it was big enough to provide a lot of different opportunities but small enough where I could really get to know my cohort and faculty."

"The University of Vermont is a top notch education facility tucked into the beautiful mountains of Vermont. Not only is the education above average but so are the people that work, life, and surround UVM. All the professors, admin, and other staff strive to make your time at UVM a meaningful and worthwhile endeavor."

"I absolutely loved the University of Vermont. The school and campus is amazing in and out of the classroom. Not only is the campus a short walk from Church Street and Lake Champlain, you have a beautiful view of the mountains walking to and from class."

"UVM was an amazing, perfect choice for me!! I did both my undergraduate and my graduate work there. I never had a professor that did not know my name, I never felt like one of a number or lost in the crowd, and the professors were truly passionate about what they were teaching. The campus is beautiful, the community, on and off campus, is great, and I learned so much about myself and my area of study!"

"The University of Vermont is located in a beautiful area of Vermont that is a cross between a rural campus setting and a small city. I really enjoyed my experience in the Honors College, which allowed me the experience to develop an undergraduate honors thesis on a topic of my choice. I also really enjoyed taking Honors courses, which were small and focused on very specific topics. Outside of the honors program at UVM, the classes (for the most part) are small and it is easy to make close connections with professors. All of the faculty I worked with were accommodating and willing to meet to help you better understand a topic from class. Ultimately, I had a great undergraduate experience at UVM and I feel well-prepare for my future career."

"When I decided to attend the University of Vermont my parents were disappointed. They had wanted me to study at a more "prestigious" school and worried about the quality of education I would receive. While the University of Vermont is not an Ivy league school it is a school where, if one has the drive for knowledge, then you can go far. All across campus and in the surrounding town of Burlington there are passionate and creative people doing what they love. Whether you aim for a career in the sciences or in the arts the University of Vermont fosters an atmosphere of ambition and dedication to your goals. If you, as a student, show enthusiasm in your work then your teachers and advisors will respond in turn. I was able to develop lasting relationships with teachers. This meant, when I was applying to gradshool, these teachers helped me with the process, offered advice, and wrote recommendations. The University of Vermont doesn't just prepare you for the academic side of your future but also the interpersonal aspects as well."

"UVM is a great place to pursue your undergrad degree. It is situated in an amazing location with mountains, lakes, and other natural resources. The staff and students all (mostly) share a love for their surroundings and a willingness to learn. However, you will find those who are more motivated than others. In general and introductory classes, it can be hard to stand out and learn in a hands on way; however once you get to the smaller classes is when the magic starts!"

"University of Vermont provided an informative and diverse undergraduate degree. Not only did I really enjoy the professors in the department of Geography, but professor who taught general requirements courses. As a child of white, affluent suburbia I really appreciated the diverse environment of the University of Vermont and the city of Burlington."

"I loved UVM. It was a great school for people who want to study in a community of people focused on social impact and environmental sustainability. The sociology program helped me think outside the box and explore a range of topics and issues and allowed me to really explore as a student."

"Vermont is an amazing school in the wonderful city of Burlington. It is perfect for liberals and people who want to make a difference. It is a progressive school, bigger than people think and has a great medical school."

"The University of Vermont has a beautiful campus and downtown Burlington is a lot of fun. I felt that my classes were engaging and had interesting professors. However, given the large size of the university community it was easy to get lost in the shuffle. There was less individualized attention so far as helping students tailor what classes would best help in pursuit of a degree"

"The University of Vermont was a great school and I learned a lot from them. One thing that I which they did more of though was push study abroad because I think it would have been a great experience but I never really was able to get it figured out."

"Absolutely loved the college. Had a lot of environmentalists which is not fitting to my personality but they did not push it on you. Vermont is the best."

"It is a great school in a vibrant community. As with all schools, you need to choose to avoid substance abuse that is accessible everywhere. UVM cares about the environment, has plenty of opportunity for community involvement, and has an excellent education standard. Burlington VT is surrounded by many other colleges as well as the university, and the downtown area has opportunities for part-time jobs as well as a variety of leisure activities. You need to be able to handle winter. The wind blows off Lake Champlain with a vengeance. You also need to be fit to handle the steep hills and large, sprawling campus. I love my alma mater and recommend it highly."

"The faculty and staff at UVM are always extremely helpful. They will help answer any questions you may have because they want to see you succeed. You can learn a lot here but you can also have fun with downtown Burlington just a short walk from campus. The biggest issue is cost, but UVM offers TA positions to its graduate students that can waive tuition credits and provide a nice stipend to cover other expenses."
