"I loved UW. This was my dream school, where I always pictured myself, and it lived up to those expectations. The atmosphere and education together are unbeatable, in my opinion."

"UW-Madison is a great school with a great culture and atmosphere. The sports are great, the social life is as engaging as you want it to be, and the professors are/were pretty hands-on and very useful/informative. The current political track though will see many of these good professors leaving. Thanks Scott Walker!"

"Loved UW-Madison although it was easy to get lost in the crowd at such a big school. There are a ton of resources available and groups to get involved with, so make sure you take advantage of those things! My professors were all very knowledgeable and had real world experiences they brought to the classroom."

"I am pursuing my Masters in Mechanical Engineering at University of Wisconsin-Madison and this program offers me incredible flexibility to focus on my research work and take on course work at a steady pace. Being a research driven driven university this is the most conducive atmosphere an academic institution can provide to their students. There are areas of improvement with regards to choosing an advisor before the program starts but that can be worked around with proper faculty guidance."

"Pros are the opportunities that come with attending a big school including academic and social opportunities. The con's also come with our program being so spread out on campus so it is more difficult to stay connected with other students on a day to day basis."

"Pros: If you are really interested in doing research, UW Madison is a great place with lots of labs, opportunities to collaborate across departments, etc etc. Cons: Since this is a big school, the emphasis is more on research and, at times, mentoring could be ignored. This results in grad students either quitting midway, or being forced to switch research groups. Ultimately, this leads to loss of valuable time and effort and possibly loss of interest for the student."

"This is probably the best value of any medical school in the country, particularly if you are a Wisconsin resident. The environment is very collaborative, and there are plenty of opportunities for fun. Madison is a very affordable and enjoyable place to live. This is a top 10 medical school."

"It's a huge school, and you can do anything you want to do here. That being said, it is a big place, and there isn't really anyone looking out for you. Be careful with your gen eds, especially if you switch majors. I know people who switched majors, and no one told them that their gen ed requirements switched. Also, be aware that philosophy is probably not a good major for finding a job. I went to law school. If you want to go to law school, you would still probably be better of taking a business degree. That being said, I got into a t14 law school (if you are considering law school, you should know what this means) right out of college, and before I graduate law school I obtained a job in my desired field of law. "The University of Wisconsin- Madison is a world renowned research facility with experienced professors and challenging courses. My graduate program provides ample networking opportunities and career support. The University of Wisconsin- Madison has high academic standards and it is reflected in the program. One con to the program is the cost of tuition. The pros definitely outweigh the cons and I am proud to be a Badger!"

"Fantastic college, known both for its academics as well as what is done outside of the classroom. If one can bear the cold winters, they will find there is very little to dislike. The copious amount of classes and excellent professors will appeal to everyone. Outside of the classroom, people will find their niche there, whether it be partying, sports, art, et al., because of the sheer size of the school."
