"Teacher education is a funny thing in and of itself. What UW prepared me for was how to deal with bureaucracy. Some of the instructors were good (mostly the Casper College partner instructors), and some were terrible, mean, and nasty. When I would ask specific questions of some personnel I was met with hostility as if I was asking for launch codes to the nuclear arsenal. So much for higher thinking! I didn't know it at the time, but what I was being groomed for was how to follow rules (as stupid as they may be) because that is largely what public education is. Follow orders and don't ask too many questions. I am not sure how good the other teacher prep programs are, but as far as the day to day teaching, building relationships, professional growth, etc., I feel this school is lacking. With the state of public education these days, however, I don't know if anyone can really prep a newbie for the sometimes - hellish world that awaits them as a public school teacher. The fact is - without this B.S. degree I would not have been able to become a certified teacher and get hired. Mostly that is what I gained from this school. I did the work, paid the financial price, and jumped through the hoops in order to get the degree. I was prepared for my professional career very minimally."

"The University of Wyoming has a phenomenal College of Business. The professors provide classroom instruction that builds to your senior year. The tools and resources necessary to successfully graduate are provided to each student. Classroom sizes are small and the professors are readily available for student interactions. The concepts taught have real-world application and to prepare a student for the current job market. What I learned at the University of Wyoming has stayed with me today and has helped me as I've grown in my career. My experience at UW and my interactions with professors has been invaluable."

"The University of Wyoming has many great professors that want students to succeed. They were always willing to help and provided great mentorship to me as a student. There are many programs to choose from and the school is quite affordable. The facilities are nice and always clean. The school offers a wide variety of classes as well."

"I attended the Univ. of Wyoming both in Laramie and in Casper and earned a degree in Elementary Education. I would highly recommend earning this degree, especially if you go through Univ. of Wy Casper. I have had the opportunity to compare the two programs and would say that because I attended the outreach program, I was more than prepared for my career."

"This school spies on their students through testing software that you have to install at the beginning of your 1L. They do nit take harassment and physical assault seriously. They create division among students and pick on the students with different political beliefs than the majority. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. If you get into WYOLAW you can get into another comparable school. This one is nothing special worth risking your dreams on."

"I finished my degree at the University or Wyoming as a single mother of two. This created some difficulties and hurdles as I was continuing with try degree and the practicum hours that I had to complete. I had such wonderful professors who worked with me every step of the way. Dr. K. was a champion who was in my corner helping me and rooting for me the whole time. I am thankful for his understanding and his nonjudgmental support as I was working through all of my classes."

"The University of Wyoming offered me and many other students amazing extra curricular experiences which shaped who I am today. The community volunteering, the intramurals, the access to great facilities, and the friends I made were great. When considering the educational experience and the value of a UW education, I think it was highly inadequate when considering employment outside the states. Even though the school propagated a very inclusive pride fullness about itself, when it came down to preparation for the real-world, you know, when you have to get a job to pay off loans, rent, and life's other expenses, the ROI wasn't worth it. I would have rather paid a bit more and attended a more well known, non-region specific school, which would have propelled me into an awesome career start. Not once was I encouraged to attend a job fair or see the career counselors (not sure if they even have these), and when I went on my own accord, I was shocked to see Army recruiters and seasonal salmon packer employers as the featured booths. There is a reason those employers are the primary representation at the job fair, because that's the quality of education that employers are seeing from UW grads. Not to say enlisting in the army is negative, but that my education is preparing me take seasonal pack salmon? If the accolades of earning a degree from UW were so great, like claimed, companies like GE, Amazon, Ford, Google, large financial institutions, and start-ups, would be knocking down the door for UW grads...but they aren't... Looking back, UW is seen on my resume as a check mark, just for the fact I received a degree. The reason I got my job wasn't because I went to UW, it was the fact I realized the lack of educational value UW prepared me with, that I powered through outside of the classroom to land the job I did. Looking back, I wish I had this information to further make my college decision. I know I would have made a different choice, one that respected me as the future of the new ideas and innovation, not just someone prepared to mindlessly pack salmon."

"I think college (4 year) was helpful and necessary as a transition to adulthood that everyone should experience. However, I think that getting a master's in something unspecialized (such as communications) is completely unnecessary and a waste of money."

"Small school with a limited number of Graduate Assistants who, especially those in the PhD path, do not discouraged from cheating. This lead to a strange environment where those who were part of the in-crowd had the competitive edge. Unqualified instructors were sometimes put in charge of graduate-level courses, namely one who made a 'no-questions' rule on the first day of class in Mathematical Theory of Statistics."

"I love University of Wyoming. The school is very beautiful. The library, fitness center, and surrounding area are perfect! Since UW is located in a small town, it is very convenient to go everywhere. The most amazing thing is- all transportation is free."

"As an undergraduate student of UW, it was a fantastic school to study geology. The professors are wonderful and they care about you. They are willing to work with you and help you succeed with your education and future. And to top it off, you'll live in a beautiful state with mountains, and the plains. There's a lot to do around Laramie on the weekends, including hikes. The University has an Outdoor Program which includes rock climbing, snow shoeing, ski trips, etc."

"The University of Wyoming had a great online Bachelor's program that I was able to attend at a distance. I lived and worked in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for 10 years, and I was lucky to be able to complete an in-state university online while living there. The professors and counselors were fantastic and I felt that I received a great education. I received a job offer within the Internal Audit department of a publicly traded company before I even graduated."

"The University of Wyoming is a stunning college for multiple reasons. The campus is beautiful, abundant with aged trees and large sprawling lawns. The buildings are well maintained and their old age well preserved. Studying psychology at the University of Wyoming was the best few years of my life. As a scholarly individual - I was encouraged to not only learn information but to retain and apply. The professors are personable, knowledgeable and up to date on current research and applications on theory. The beautiful thing is that the student population at the University of Wyoming is incredibly diverse which lends to further expansion of thought and communicative interaction. Stellar University."

"I have enjoyed my time at the University of Wyoming and all that it has presented me. The town of Laramie had the small town Wyoming feel that I had grown up around and allowed those that had not been privileged enough to experience. The small college allows one to attain the education of a bigger college while being able to stand out due to the small population whereas they might not in a bigger college. This school has granted me the tools to reach my goals of graduating with an undergraduate degree in criminal justice so that I could enroll in their law school for the next fall."

"The master's program through the University of Wyoming at Casper is a very intense program. We meet 2 - 3 weekends a month and the rest is done on our own. It is not an easy program but the instructors provide a lot of support to you and do anything they can to help you succeed. You become very close to you classmates since this program is done as a 3 year cohort. It is truly an amazing experience."

"I graduated from the University of Wyoming in 2015. I enjoyed the education I received from this university for various reasons. 1) it is a smaller campus, which is exactly what I wanted 2) because it is smaller there is more opportunity to build relationships with instructors and other faculty to help build networking opportunities 3) the campus community is strong and it seems as though everyone looks out for one another 4) it appears as though the Dean of Students and the President work really hard to try and make the campus safer for students and lastly 5) the small town vibes really gives people a different sense of community that you cannot get at any other university."

"The faculty of the anthropology department is excellent. They are always willing to talk with you and connect you with other resources on campus. I have worked with professors from a number of colleges on the campus, and it has always been great. In addition to regular coursework, I have taken practical skills courses in anthropology, and have worked in the field. I highly recommend the University of Wyoming."
