"After obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, I had an idea of what I wanted to do in the profession but I wasn't exactly sure. I have always been interested in the field on mental health and have had some experience through internships and jobs but I haven't had the educational part to it. With VCU's social work program, I am able to focus in on mental health and take the two years to becoming fully competent in the area. I am provided lots of learning experiences as well as educational opportunities. The staff and fellow classmates become your biggest supports as well as role models. If you have your BSW and want to gain higher education or even have your Bachelor's Degree in a different field but are interested in social work, challenge yourself and apply to VCU's MSW program, it will be the best decision of your life."

"College can surprise you. Some of my favorite classes were entirely outside my major or what I thought I'd be interested. Even a couple of years out of college, I almost wish I could go again to take more classes. I miss learning!"

"Great campus in the city of Richmond. The city of Richmond in the past 20 years has helped rebuild the city. It is now a clean and safe city. When I first arrived on campus, I was afraid of the surrounding area. I have recently visited the campus for an alumni event and felt very safe. Virginia Commonwealth University and Richmond offer so many social and cultural opportunities for students, that I would not hesitate recommending the school or city to anyone. The location of the campus is a great plus. Day trips to the nation's capital, the beach, or to the mountains are all within a two hour drive from campus."

"I loved my program so much! The professors really get to know you and invest in your success long after you have graduated. You learn to work on teams and independently and gain experiences that are more than applicable to the real world. There is plenty of opportunity to volunteer in areas that interested you and networking opportunities are endless! If you want a career in sports, this is for you!"

"VCU has an amazing biology program. The first two years of gen eds are strictly to filter out the weak. The last two years, your classes will be smaller, more involved, more engaging, and professors will be extremely passionate about their field. do not waste your time, check rate my professor and make sure you get the best professors for your most difficult classes. you will have a great education if you do it right."

"The Engineering school definitely needs some improvement, but it was overall a great experience. I wish there were more course opportunities for Chemical Engineering students. Students would definitely benefit from a co-op program, which is something I hope they implement in the future."

"I graduated from the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) da Vinci Center for Innovation. The da Vinci Center is deserving of recognition for their exceptional work in technology education in Richmond, Virginia. The applied nature of the da Vinci Center offerings leads to close collaboration with community partners across Richmond where undergraduate and graduate students work with faculty in the delivery of innovative solutions for corporate and community partners. The VCU da Vinci Center is a collaboration of VCUs School of the Arts, Business, Engineering and College of Humanities and Sciences, and is a unique collegiate model that advances innovation through cross-disciplinary collaboration. This program has helped me attain a job in the workforce and helped me reach my dreams of getting into dental school. The program offers a top notch mentorship, job experiences and education. I had a fantastic learning experience at VCU and would recommend the Masters program to anyone interested in higher education and innovation."

"VCU is a great university to attend. There are numerous opportunities for students to network and connect with other students and companies. The diversity of the campus is great and you can find a place for yourself no matter your age, ethnicity or background. VCU is an overall great school of choice and you'll get as much out of it as you'll allow yourself."

"I enjoyed the community at VCU. The cost and different office made my experience unpleasant at times. The school had seemed to steer away from a community and turned into all about money. My professors and classmates were awesome and helped with the stress of paying for VCU. Since I left in 2013 VCU has upgraded a lot but the cost is starting to get ridiculous."

"If you want to be in a big city with a small-town feel; to be surrounded by artists, academics, and professionals; and to live in a place that is full of history, vibrant with street art, and hosts some of the best food in Virginia, go to Virginia Commonwealth University. The teachers expect excellence, and give excellence in return; the campus is navigable and the students friendly. This place is almost surreal in that the school boasts extreme quality of education, while being planted firmly in the middle of one of the most unique and diverse cities on the East coast."
