"The faculty are all top notch instructors. However, the facilities are basic and lack more diverse and sophisticated equipment. Overall, this program is great for undergraduates but lacks the necessities for a quality graduate school. Funding is partial and will ultimately result in the need for loans at some point in your academic career."

"I love social work, and I love my program. The pros of my program are the faculty accessibility and support, as well as the field and research experiences. The assignments also provide students with an opportunity to engage with the material. One of the cons is the lack of communication between administrators and students at times."

"Pros: Accessible faculty, great NBCOT pass rate, great location, connection to a teaching hospital, choice in fieldwork placements, great neuro and anatomy courses. Cons: Too much theory, not all professors are good, too picky about things that do not matter, could have a better kinesiology background."

"Although the program is ranked very highly, the quality of classes and the program is not reflected in that. The program administration is extremely disorganized. There professors are mostly adjunct which I find to be a bad thing. The program also offers very little financial assistance. On the other hand, the program does have a good reputation and the classes are not hard at all."

"MS in Biology was excellent. Provided me with a fellowship which paid for my tuition and a stipend. I had the opportunity to teach a undergraduate lab, take graduate level courses, as well as do research. A great program for a springboard for any career."

"The program has been around for a long time and is highly ranked. Opportunity to work with esteemed scholars in the field. The City of Richmond provides a great training ground for future Social Workers.  There is very little guidance and support to help students navigate the program. There is little program flexibility, little funding, and little opportunity to participate in research."

"The program is very affordable compared to other physical therapy programs across the country and even in Virginia. The professors are brilliant and very easy to talk to. All the students get along very well and do a lot of social activities together outside of school."

"The graduate program itself seemed very good. The classes were relevant, I especially liked how they had you take courses to teach you about life and not just your major's focus. However, the school is in the heart of the city so some things become very difficult such as parking and crime."

"Amazing graduate student experience! Very supportive and available faculty and staff. They care so much about their students. The course work is challenging, without being too difficult, and relevant to the real world. Parking at VCU can be a bit difficult and our police department is great at notifying us of incidents on or around campus. The social scene at VCU is wonderful and eclectic. Great restaurants and bars that fit everyone's tastes. I love my school and my program!"

"The school is located right in the heart of the city and therefore offers practical application to your studies. The program was heavily focused on the practical side of planning and how everyday planners utilize their knowledge to make cities and communities more vibrant, functional places to live and work."

"I went to undergrad and grad school at VCU and loved every minute of it. The elementary education program actually combined undergrad and grad classes together to make it so that you could finish in 5 years. It was great because it was only a year of full time grad classes with others mixed in with undergrad the year before. The professors in the school of education are all fantastic and readily available to help you with everything. Even know several years after I've graduated and started teaching I know I could email them about anything and they would help right away. They've even kept up a data base of where everyone I graduated with ended up teaching at and what grades they are teaching so we can keep in touch with each other."

"My graduate program laid a strong foundation to pursue multiple avenues of science. It established three main requirements. Teaching, research, and education. The program created a a strong foundation to pursue a career in education, further research with a PhD or continue onto professional school"

"Faculty is very supportive and will go out of their way to help you succeed - even being available for questions on the weekend! However, the info load is enormous. There is never enough time to learn it all, the students are hardly sleeping and living on caffeine of one form or another! In another year it is supposed to get better, here's to hoping!"

"Diverse, decent level of education. You get out of it what you put in it. Other students may be less motivated though."

"I think the grad program in mechanical engineering is great. I feel that the program does indeed prepare you academically and definitely offers a challenge. I also feel there should be more courses offered and that the program should include some other aspects that help grad students to collaborate as well as prepare them for life after grad school."

"Tell us about your college experience.I had a lot of fun the first two years, later on i focused more on my studies. The school was great considering all aspects.Would you get the same degree if you could start over?Probably not, I would love to try something different but still somehow related to life sciences or the outdoors. What advice can you offer other students? It's going to be a one in a life time experience, so have fun but keep an eye on your studies."
