Student & Graduate Reviews

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2016

The pros are that I can complete homework on my own time while still having a full time job and I am learning a lot from my classes. A con is that homework does take me a while to complete depending on the class.

At times the online program can be overwhelming with a full time job but the material covered is pertinent to the field. Most professors are very involved and provide quality feedback that increases overall proficiency. The online program provides individuals with the ability to complete their studies, while living in a remote area, moving due to family situations, etc. Overall great program just a bit expensive!

Pro: Being able to take courses that are beneficial to achieving your goals Cons: Not have that face-to-face contact with instructors in order to ask questions and get help with every the academic process.

Out of the brick and mortar schools and other online programs. I feel that Walden U's program is excellent. This program is very organized, well structured, and educational. My main concern is the amount of students being admitted into program and low admission criteria give the program a bad name. I feel this program has a lot of potential and will help many members in rural areas to achieve higher education.

I am just starting the grad program so I really don't have an opinion of the school at this time.

Walden University is an online school, which allows for a great deal of flexibility in your schedule and other obligations. It requires a high degree of self-direction because you do not have the pressure of a brick classroom. Students come from around the country and around the world, enriching discussions that are a part of each course. Instructors often work in the field and can help with practical suggestions in providing mental health care. Instructors are generally prompt at responding to emails and grading work. Overall, I am very happy with Walden University.

My online graduate program allows efficient time for me to still work to obtain experience while pursuing a higher degree. I am still able to have a great connection with my professors and other collegues. I truly love this program.

It's a different format than other online classes I took for my Bachelors. But overall, I would recommend them!

Degree: Reading & Literacy Education
Graduation Year: 2017

As a working professional, the course work at Walden University allows me to study in my own time and at my own pace. There is technology support available when needed, the books are mailed to my home, and I have easy access to my professors. Also, Walden University is recognized by my school district as a respected university. The course work is rigorous and demanding, but very relevant to the education profession. I know that once I graduate from Walden University with a Doctorate in Education, I will be well prepared for the challenges faced as an educator.
