"The pros of my graduate program was being able to select an internship related to my field of interest. Many other programs assign internship placements and I was happy that Wayne State allowed students a say in where they were placed. The cons of Wayne State University are the expensive tuition and quality of teaching. I am a Canadian student and am used to teachers expecting a higher quality of work from their students. Further, being Canadian means I have to pay the exchange rate on an extravagant tuition which has proved more difficult that initially anticipated."

"The positives to this graduate program are that it's relatively easy to get to if you work in the downtown Detroit area. There are multiple parking garages to use, which provides for an added level of safety. The business school has a great support team through the advising services, which always keep you up to date on the happenings of the university and the business school. Furthermore, they completely support you furthering your career through many job fair opportunities and information regarding new positions available in your field. The negatives are the expense for parking if you do commute and the out-dated buildings used for learning. A new project to construct a building for the business school will begin soon, however."

"The M.Ed. in Instructional Technology program is geared towards entry level teachers. The IT7100 course had many technical problems. Lectures were never posted until Thurs. or Friday. The curriculum for the entire week was usually only 1 or 2 sentences long. Grades took 3 weeks. I had a good experience with an external IT6100 course. But would never recommend the program. Staff seem knowledgeable about the field, but you could tell the IT7100 was thrown together each week at the last minute and the professor didn't do a lot of planning. This is no good when especially the field is for Instructional Design."

"One of the most highly rated urban colleges in the country. Being located in Detroit sounds unappealing for most, however the campus itself is charming and the classrooms/buildings are constantly being upgraded/renovated for a more modern and sophisticated urban presence."

"It was a nice upgrade from high school. College students need to be careful to manage their time well and make time for work, school, and play. It's important to focus on school but also keep a balance in your life."

"I feel the Pros of being in the pharmacy graduate program at Wayne State University include: 90% success rate that you will graduate and have job offers. The campus is affiliated with Michigan's best hospitals and hospital systems, giving students experiences in hospital settings that can't be experienced anywhere else. The program offer students with ideal experiences, volunteer work, and networking opportunities that will greatly help towards accomplishing ones goals. Smaller class sizes (<100) allows you to have more interaction with your colleagues and one-on-one interaction with your professors. Allows students to build strong relationships w/ their professors, advisers, and mentors. Overall, the program is one of the bests because it really prepares students for their future as pharmacists; pharmacists from Wayne State are trained clinically and have strong leadership skills. The Cons of being in the pharmacy graduate program at Wayne State University include: dangerous/unsafe campus location. There is a lot of crime in area including theft, aggravated sexual assault/rape, abduction, and intended injury, and murder. Many students also do not live near the campus, so the compute for many is very difficult and long. It's also very expensive, even for in-state residence. For those who do live on campus, there are no near by grocery stores and the stores on campus are not the safest either."

"Pros: -Wayne State University is a huge graduate school -They have nearly twice as many graduate degrees as undergrad -They have invested a lot of money into their graduate programs, including new teaching buildings, laboratories, faculty, etc. -There are so many laboratories to work in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Cons -There are so many seminars for graduate students, it can be overwhelming; these seminars are great for expanding one's knowledge and curiosity into new fields of science, but they do not help one to meet people in these new fields -There is a TON of extracurricular stuff to do on campus, but since most of Wayne State University students are commuters, it can feel a little difficult to make friends"

"The pros of Wayne state university it that there is a very diverse student population and its located in a city that is current on the rise. The cons is that there is very little staff support , you're pretty much on your own when finding which classes to take and making sure you're on track to graduate."

"I love going to school at Wayne State University in Detroit! It has a great network of hospitals and rehabilitation centers right around our school which provides many great opportunities. The workload is stressful, but well worth it in the end."

"The Public Administration program is very useful in helping me acquire skills useful for public administrators today. The professors are very knowledgable and experienced in the field and really care about the students. The negatives of the program is the lack of cohort or support. It is a more individualistic program."

"The graduate school of social work at Wayne State University offers a unique and enriching educational opportunity. The central location of Midtown Detroit enables and encourages students to explore a variety of socially diverse and in-demand fields of work. My experience at Wayne State University began in the Fall of 2014. The average commute from the suburbs of Metro-Detroit to the WSU Campus is roughly 30-45 minutes and can be difficult at times of snow and ice. The cost of housing on or around the campus is to high for my husband and I to afford, and because day-care is only provided to undergraduate students with a limited availability my husband and I have decided to live in close proximity to family care-takers. The social work program offers the majority of its course selection during the day, with only one or two night and online classes. This poses a challenge to many students who work during the day or have limited transportation."

"Wayne State university is a great school in terms of quality of education and ability to get hands l. Experience. I believe that being in Detroit, there is so much note opportunity to learn by doing than at other schools around the country. Students are able to be working with patients, taking histories, doing blood pressures and other procedures as soon as their first month. The exposure allowed at WSU is unique and really awesome. However, living in Detroit also has its downsides. The area is a lot safer than one might expect, but you still have to be aware and cautious. Also, there really isn't much life to the city. There are a surprisingly large number of good restaurants and events that happen in the city, but on an average day there is lite going on and not much green space for those who love outdoors. Overall, Wayne is a great school who provides aprovide an education that rivals any other medical school in the country and allows students to end up where they want to go."
