"West Virginia University gives access to many talented, intelligent, and caring faculty to help you with your education. However, many people in and around Morgantown are way too obsessed with sports and they tend to party way too much after sporting events (or for no reason at all) which causes a shocking number of riots."

"The program was academically rigorous which was positive. However, there is not a lot of support while completing a PhD in this particular program."

"WVU offers a number of opportunities for a variety of careers and a true community for students. They allow flexibility with scheduling and adult education. I would recommend this school to anyone looking to advance their future in any areas of study."

"The Multidisciplinary Studies Program at WVU is a great opportunity to really diversify your bachelors degree into something unique. You have the ability to choose your interests and if you choose the online program you have freedom to complete your tasks at your most convenient times for you. All of the professors are excellent and provide you with the upmost relatable information to your chosen concentrations. This is definitely a great choice for a bachelors degree if you are still undecided in your major."

"WVU is a very fun school. The biggest challenge with it, is staying focused on your coursework. If you show up to class, and turn in effortful assignments on time, you should have no problem getting A's. WVU has some faculty that deeply care about their student's and their education. It is certainly a select few. If you go to WVU, try to connect with these faculty and get connected with opportunities on campus."

"WVU was an amazing experience. Set in the mountains, there are plenty of outdoor activities. The campus is vast, safe with several locations in Morgantown that are all connected via our Personal Rapid Transit (like a subway train) system. Academia are great. We have great sports, the atmosphere is electric."

"Make sure to do your research on what major you would like to choose-- this includes: what major is best for the career you want one day, what major will you enjoy and what major will give you the most options for the future. If you are unsure of what major you would like to choose, take general classes your first semester or year, so you can get a better idea of what you enjoy and what would best prepare you for your career."

"The Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree at West Virginia University is phenomenal. The teachers here are some of the best that I have encountered throughout my entire educational career and the people in my class are brilliant students. The only couple of downsides are that transportation can be a bit difficult if you don't live very close the Health Science campus, but there is also PLENTY of housing near that area within a 5 minute walk. Also, my program does not specifically have an extreme amount of diversity, but at WVU in general there is a large amount of people from other states, countries, and general backgrounds."

"The program is very well taught, giving the possibility of different courses helps a lot. Another pro would be the availability of instructors, coordinators and dean of the specific program. Some cons would be, few affordable housing options around this part of campus, although transportation is better than expected."

"Not worth my time in the *insert language* department. I knew more entering than leaving, but I am very much an exception in that. Loved and adored the linguistics classes and professors. Drs. Seynnaeve and Stepanovic are of a quality I could only have dreamed of. Language itself just blossomed in my head because of them. If you aren't a party person, stick to the Evansdale campus and live with having to take the bus or PRT between campuses. It is much calmer on Evansdale. They have a growing LGBTQ group and support. You get a limited number of free visits to the Carruth Center if you ever need a counselor/therapist. The director of the Carruth Center is wonderful. You can absolutely learn to thrive in a "party" school if you aren't into parties. RA's are well trained and really do want to help you. Cafeteria food isn't great but there are several options around the campuses so you can figure out which place(s) have food you prefer. I really do think there is a place for literally everyone at WVU, if for no other reason than I found my place and did well and learned who I was there. I originally didn't want to go to WVU but it was really my only option. It turned out very well. Don't discount it because of its party school reputation. Everyone has a place there."

"I really love that I chose to go to WVU. It is the best education you will get when you live in WV. I love the occupational therapy program. It is very time consuming, and it was difficult to adjust to, but it is very rewarding. There are a lot of outside costs in the program. We have to pay for drug screens and background checks and immunizations that aren't required for acceptance into the University; they are strictly program requirements. There aren't many resources in regard to financial aid and it's very difficult to get any outside help. Other than that, it is a great place to be with many unique opportunities."

"WVU will be one of the places that I remember fondly for the rest of my life. I have and will continue to visit Morgantown forever. It is not only an incredible university with incredible faculty and staff, but it is one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen. You will never regret becoming a Mountaineer. "The classes offered were very useful in preparation for a career in statistics. The professors generally explained things very well and were willing to adjust classroom methods to facilitate better learning. I would have liked to see some of the higher-lever classes offered more frequently, but maybe this is not realistic with their staffing budget or priorities. For example, I really wanted to take the Time Series Analysis class, but during my time there it was only offered during my first semester, which was when I had to take the required lower-level classes. I believe the next time it was offered was exactly two years later. Again, I understand the reasons for this, and I can always read up on Time Series on my own and be able to study/understand it well with the skills that WVU's program helped me develop, so it is not a huge deal. Thank you!"

"We receive a higher quality graduate education in a shorter time frame than other programs (4 years), but the resulting workload is overwhelming at times. The faculty are supportive and the atmosphere is not internally competitive because we use the "junior colleague model." The level of financial support is lower than most programs, however."

"Pros:West Virginia University has an amazing way of thoroughly preparing its students for careers after graduation. The research environment is impeccable, fast-paced, progressive, and appropriately challenging. The faculty are extremely supportive and always very available. Cons: The workload during the first semester almost seems impossible to complete, simply as a result of their only being 24 hours in a day. In addition, Morgantown WV isn't the most exciting place to live."
