Student & Graduate Reviews

3.83 out of 5.0
Degree: Higher Education
Graduation Year: 2016

Out of state tuition is extremely high. That is the one negative thing I have to say. The college itself is really amazing and has professors and faculty that are very willing to help.
4.0 out of 5.0
Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2015

Pros: Support, educational value, cohort members, and professors who care about what they are teaching. Cons: Lack of diversity on campus
3.92 out of 5.0
Degree: Social Sciences
Graduation Year: 2016

I start graduate school in the fall, all of these ratings are based on campus visits that I have done and faculty who I have talked to.
3.33 out of 5.0
Degree: ESL
Graduation Year: 2015

Pros: Some really good teachers and subject matter. Cons: Expensive, slow technology, some teachers not engaging, discontinued my program.
4.42 out of 5.0
Degree: Physical Therapy
Graduation Year: 2015

Pros: Invaluable education and professional development. Cons: Many hours spent studying in and out of classroom; thus, a decreased social life.
4.75 out of 5.0
Degree: Social Work
Graduation Year: 2015

The first semester was totally overwhelming, but I managed great grades. The professors are great. The location is pretty remote, but it is a beautiful area with a lot of outdoor activities.
5.0 out of 5.0
Degree: English
Graduation Year: 2015

Very helpful faculty, an extremely amicable and friendly atmosphere, and a quality program.
3.5 out of 5.0
Degree: History
Graduation Year: 2014

This program allows the student to meet and work with top notch historians and develop into a quality professional. The drawback revolves around a specific focus upon Southern history and the twentieth century United States. Students looking to research other fields will have difficulty with this.
3.25 out of 5.0
Degree: Public Health
Graduation Year: 2015

Western Carolina University's Masters of Health Science program is very affordable and has great faculty. One of the only cons is that it is in a very secluded area.
3.5 out of 5.0
Degree: ESL
Graduation Year: 2015

The pros are that my major professors are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what teach. Also, my classes are small enough to get personal attention yet large enough create a new social network. I truly enjoy what I am studying even though it is a complex topic. The cons are that there is no public transportation to campus so I am reliant on someone to take me there, also the technology that the school is using could be better (email, scanners and student computers, etc.).
