My program, Educational Leadership through WGU, is an excellent program. The courses are relevant and insightful. As an online school, you have to be very dedicated to stay on top of classes, but the flexibility is phenomenal.

I like the fact that this program is completely online (other than the student teaching). It made it possible for me to enroll, while continuing to work and juggle family obligations. The items I didn't rate were because they did not apply due to the fact that my schooling is online, and not at a campus.

This online program leading to certification in additional subject matter for secondary school teaching is one of the best available. You work at your own pace for the most part and can finish as quickly as you are able which saves you money. The course work is hard and challenging - it's not for the unmotivated! The mentors at WGU are fantastic, however, and are with you all the way.

Since the program is all online some of the above areas are not applicable, however overall I loved my experience at WGU. The courses were very informative and the staff was extremely helpful and encouraging. I was able to complete both my Bachelors and Masters degrees in about 2 years. Amazing!

Degree: Business
Graduation Year: 2012

I am not currently enrolled in the in the graduate program as I am a recent graduate of WGU. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and have successfully made it through my first year of teaching. My path to the classroom was a very long, winding journey; which, leads me to WGU's pros: the quicker you can complete assignments the quicker your graduation date draws near. However, as I got ready to embark on furthering my education and wanted to pursue my dreams of being able to branch out of elementary education I encountered not just a con of WGU, but a con of life ... money. Graduate school is expensive and frankly I can't do it alone and WGU doesn't have any grants or scholarships to offer.

The pros of the program entails completely online degree program which allows me to work at my own pace. The classes provide enrichment to my daily work load. The cons are the extensive reading of a variety of material.

Graduation Year: 2012

Pros are being able to work on the degree at your own pace and in your own home. Since they allow you to move ahead when you finish classes I was able to complete a 2-year degree in 1 year. Cons are you are that you are not in active classes.; you must be self motivated.

I love the fact it is online. I am able to work on my schedule. Having a mentor really helps me be accountable for my time and work as well.
