Easing the mental pains of my battle brothers.

Adler has a connection between the individual and community. They have strong adlerian mission and core values. It is best known art therapy program by the AATA. There are small classes in a creative environment for 2 years. This program is dual degree with a focus on being socially responsible.

The courses were challenging and required the mandated readings along with outside research which really opened the field and outcomes available which can transfer into knowledge and experiences. The professors allowed for open discussion without fear of any political or societal fallout, this allowed for in depth, open, intelligent conversation with solid research foundations and outcomes.

Degree: Public Policy
Graduation Year: 2018

Adler University in Chicago has helped me to incorporate a lens of social justice into my career goals in public policy. The coursework is challenging but very interesting and relevant to modern public issues and politics. The instructors are very well experienced in their fields, and learning often includes both historical and current event examples to help students navigate book learning into real-life application. I have a diverse educational background in anthropology, psychology and international public health, and the Masters of Public Policy program allows me to capture each of these areas in my written and roleplay assignments. In fact, all worldview lenses of the students are appreciated during the classroom discussions, and the instructors aim to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere - even during heated topic debates. For students seeking a modern education that thrives on intellectual rigor, then Adler is a top choice. In addition, the course content situates the learning materials into critical historical realism, which helps students anchor their blossoming awareness of social justice to such public domains as community health policy, which is my chosen track. I highly recommend Adler Universitys Masters of Public Policy for students wanting to gain from an education in policy that goes beyond statistics and top-down public initiatives to incorporate bottom-up community insights.

Alder University has been an outstanding online school. The professors are motivating and encouraging, IT support is excellent, and the university has always been responsive with questions. While the school is fast-paced (a new course every 8 weeks), it fits my schedule perfectly - allowing me to work still work full-time and be a parent to my young son. Every course has been a wealth of information that I am immediately putting to use in my current work. Overall - an excellent program and school!

Graduation Year: 2019

Adler University is a great educational institution. I am only six month into the program and have been enjoying every course and professor so far. The courses are engaging and relevance to my personal perceptions/ understandings. The professor have extension experience and expertise while still being just a phone call and email away. The University is focused on social responsibility of individuals as it relates to the society that we are a part of. The program that I am in is the Industrial/ organizational psychology program. This direction gives me the opportunity to learn how to lead, consult and overall support different companies to be able to guide them into making socially responsible choices for their stakeholders and anyone that can be effected by their decisions. I believe that it is necessary to understand how intertwined we are with the world around us and it is important for us to take ownership of our actions. Adler University has definitely encouraged this perspective to the degree we choose and makes graduate school no as overwhelming as some may think.

Graduation Year: 2019

Working as an inpatient therapist, following completion of my Master's degree from Adler University, I was adequately prepared to treat patients, yet always felt pulled to do more for them. I came back to Adler University to pursue a Psy.D so that I could further my understanding of human behavior and continue providing the best treatment possible to the individuals and families that I work with. Although I was conducting quality treatment, Adler University instilled a motivation to be socially responsible, both personally and professionally. I attribute this quality of my education to why I was compelled to return to school, and specifically to Adler University, because as students and professionals we should never settle. We should always be inspired to continue to learn and grow as individuals and as communities. Adler does not just promote social justice, however. The program provides hands-on training experiences in one of the most diverse cities in the world. This has allowed me to apply concepts and classroom work directly to the community that I am living in. These experiences are vitally important in a city like Chicago, where a need for intervention and social understanding continues to be an ongoing battle. Through these training experiences in the doctoral program at Adler University, I have been challenged, inspired, at times frustrated, as well as empowered in the most wonderful of ways. I owe a lot to Adler University both personally and professionally and am thankful as well as humbled to be able to write a review for such a fantastic program. I highly recommend Adler University's doctor of psychology program to any person driven to promote social justice and to create a better society for us all.

Degree: School Counseling
Graduation Year: 2019

I am currently attending Adler University where I am a PhD candidate in the Counselor Education and Supervision program. What I appreciate most about this school/program is the support that I have received from the staff as well as my peers. I like that the classroom size is small; I am currently in a cohort of 8 student. Being in a smaller sized class helps with learning the material as well as building rapport with the professors. The professors are always concerned with the progress of the students and making sure that we are comprehending the material and able to apply the course work. I also love that Adler is concerned with social justice and making sure that the students participate in a social justice internships. I would strongly recommend that students attend this school. Being able to have one-to-one meetings with professors and meeting great individuals makes this school and the program is so awesome.

I am a new student in the class of 2019 at Adler University in Chicago, IL. I can say that all of my instructors so far, including the Advising, Student Financial Services, and Career Services teams have been extremely easy to talk to and excellent listeners. I feel that any education a person receives comes from the hard work that they put into it, but the teams at Adler University have inspired me to work hard and expect a lot out of myself and the school itself. I'm on the ball with communicating and homework, and they're quick to help me with anything I might need. Thank you, Adler.
