I completed a Bachelors program under American Military University and found the University to be very flexible and afforadable. I recently enrolled for their Graduate's program and am excited to go through this process. Unfortunately, the classes are rather expensive therefore I need a scholarship to be able to afford the classes.

Most of the applications do not apply to my particular program... such as transportation and housing. But for an online program and facility, it is really great to have this access and people who understand the demands of graduate courses online.

A very good online program, one of the best in comparison to other other online programs. Lacks some of the competitiveness of a traditional brick and mortar school , but the Professors all have diverse backgrounds, with many coming from the military and academy backgrounds.

This an online only university. The staff is fantastic, especially in the graduate system. This is my second masters through APUS and the supporting administration have been exceptionally helpful through the entire process. The pros\cons are heavily in the online system and your personal discipline. I enjoyed the freedom to do classes when they I had available time and had no issues with the workload or assignments in genera. I could see how some people might be better suited for a situation that had a slightly more rigid structure.

Very satisfied with my studies here. The school makes continuing your education as easy as possible. Coordinator of licensure checks in to make sure you are on track for graduation!

Degree: Political Science
Graduation Year: 2009

This degree program---American Military University, which functions through American Public University System---worked for me because I was able to work as active duty military (US Air Force) and get my degree online with other active duty personnel. My classmates were all extremely educated, because they were all active duty, doing hands-on work with the subjects we addressed in class; for example, in my Central Asia class, I had a Tech Sergeant actually stationed in Kyrgyzstan, who I was able to meet face-to-face on my way out of Afghanistan. This degree program allowed me to complete my Masters while on a remote tour to Greenland; in transition between Vandenberg Air Force Base in California to Peterson AFB in Colorado; on deployment to Afghanistan, as well as the month I spent in Kyrgyzstan while we waited for the airlines to bid on a contract to fly us home. The down side to an online degree is, of course, not really getting into debates with other students, which is so very central to any political science degree.

APUS's American Military University offers me the versatility and flexibility I need to complete my program. The program is entirely online and the materials are affordable (and often provided in electronic form free of charge). All my professors have been professionals in my field of study with expertise I can drawn from. If I had one complaint it's that the online learning system goes through a lot of evolution, making it a little bit unpredictable sometimes. Love AMU!

Pros: Enlightening and Challenging Cons: No Phd program and alumni network is difficult to navigate

Degree: Business

The American Public University online MBA program provides a strong academic core. This was my first time taking online classes and I found the professor to be accessible and honest. The class challenged my critical thinking skills and grew my portfolio of written pieces. One of the only disadvantages with the lack of direct interaction with other students. Other than our weekly forum posts, it felt a little isolating.

The online Degree program works great ofr my lifestyle and location. As a returning student that needs a flexable schedule, the online education works best.
