Degree: History
Graduation Year: 2016

This is an online program which makes it easily accessible and affordable. While the workload is good it can sometimes be overwhelming considering the majority of the students hold full-time jobs and have families.

Since everything is online it is hard to have adequate communication when there is an issue. Sometimes the professors do not check their inboxes and this creates issues if a student is needing help. They did work with me when I had some issues and I was able to extend my course deadline.

I feel APU/AMU online coursework is very beneficial to a student who juggles a full time job and full time wife =) and allows me to do my coursework when I am able to as compared to a brick and mortar institution. As far as cons, I would say the lack of face to face student interaction would be it. It does not prepare you for your potential career and possible public speaking only communicating with your peers through the internet.

I have absolutely zero cons to the program. Having just started it would be hard to, however thus far (and having attained my BA at this University) I have had nothing but the best guidance and success.

I have not yet started the program, but the application and registration process has been painless. I have been very happy with the Admissions Counselor's at APU.

This is an online program so most of the networking possibilities are loss because this degree is accomplished online. However, this program very accessible for those individuals that have full time jobs.

Degree: Political Science
Graduation Year: 2009

The program itself, I felt, was quality education taught from highly qualified professionals. I received my MA in Political Science, concentration Intelligence Studies, and all of my professors had some type of experience in the intellgience field with great academic credentials. My peers were all excellent to interact with and overall I had a great experience. The problem lies in the fact that online education is still not exactly a widely accepted form of education and the feeling I get when I list it on my resume or CV is that it is not taken seriously. I have since then received a second masters from one institution and am receiving a third from Georgetown. The quality of education and course work is on par with those other institutions. Hopefully the stigma of online education will change soon at which point I would highly reccomend this institution as a great choice.

APUS provides an outstanding learning environment for veterans of the armed forces. We live challenging lives on the road and working difficult schedules, APUS understands this and works with us in completing our degree.

Degree: Liberal Studies

Pros of the program have been the ability to conduct a learning environment anywhere and at anytime due to the program being online. Cons would be the fact that you do not get the actual college experience, and the lack of person to person contact with professors and students.

The pros were definitely the ease with which one could log on and off at any time of the day and complete graduate level assignments around the clock in order to fit their lifestyle. This facilitated the achievement of much greater workloads while working full time. The support is amazing, with professors who have educations from prestigious institutions and have real world experience which they can pass on to you. The career and student support is unprecedented in that there were many helpful individuals especially within the graduate community, between smaller classes that communicated more effectively to faculty that can actually be involved. Also, accreditation was on par with respected institutions around the globe. The cons might include the limited accessibility to face to face interaction, and I think that every student really needs a mentor. Other cons would consist of the stigma that is associated with an online degree, even though the school is accredited just as any other institution would be. Additionally, if you are not a motivated person on your own time then the deadlines will sneak up on you fairly quickly and case you to be less successful.
