Student & Graduate Reviews

Degree: Liberal Arts
Graduation Year: 2017

Tech has many masters programs available. I was in the Masters of Liberal Arts program. This program is wonderful because it allows the student to choose what courses they want to take and have a creative project for the masters thesis option. The faculty is knowledgeable in their subject matter, and they are willing to work with students. It is easy to know the staff in the department by the end of your program because of the small class sizes and friendliness of the professors.

The program and school are small however if you are independent and seek out opportunities for yourself you can count on the support of the staff. Upon talking to peers who considered this program but choose another the main reasons seem to be that it is in the state of Arkansas. However I have found the area to be affordable and so a great place to earn a degree.

This graduate program will accurately prepare me for the workforce once I graduate. The cost of living is appropriate and the academics/advising are helpful in directing me on the path to my future.

Faculty support and accessibility are awesome! The ability to take either online or in-class courses allows for more students being able to obtain their degree. There is no public transportation and very minimal diversity among the city and the University. Arkansas Tech has great people running a great institution!

Degree: Fine Arts

Arkansas Tech Univeristy's English graduate program has many pros and few cons. One of the perks of attending this program is the support of the staff. The English department at Arkansas Tech has some of the most dependable, intelligent, and helpful professors at any college in the country. The professors are always willing to listen and assist students in any way possible. Another positive aspect of the English MA program is the size of the school. Although Arkansas Tech is a very good school, it is also small compared to many universities. This is good, however, because the classrooms are small enough that the professors are able to know their students and provide as much assistances as is necessary. One con of the English program at Arkansas Tech is the same as with any college, there is so much homework!

Degree: Liberal Studies
Graduation Year: 2014

This program is small which allows me, as a student, to develop better relationships with the faculty and staff in this department. The degree is available completely online which is great for those who are not local to the campus. It is also a negative feature in that the course material is not as engaging or challenging.
