It was quite a transition to move my learning experience to an online medium. The faculty are engaged for the most part, and the rigor of the content during my first time has been impressive, as it has been more of a load, with more intensity, than I experienced at a R-1 Landgrant state university.

I am enrolled in an Education program with specialization in Leadership for Higher Education at Capella University (online). I give Capella a thumbs up when it comes to features such as faculty access and support, use of technology, and for having a variety of online groups and communities for its students to participate. For financial aid, I would recommend a person really consider researching grant, scholarship, and loan opportunities, on the school's website and outside of Capella, prior to enrolling at Capella in order to be prepared for the financial obligation needed.

Taking classes while working and having a family is often difficult. Capella offers me the ability to take classes while continuing to work and have a family. Like any online college, it can sometimes be difficult to connect with other students and instructors. Time differences add to this problem.

Is difficult to connect personally with the other students and the professors because it is all online. I do really like to work at mu own pace throughout the week.

There have been many ups and downs with this school with financial aid being more of a down than ever. Some professors are demanding and do not consider personal circumstances, whereas others are understanding and offer helpful solutions to handling LIFE when it happens.

One of the major pros at Capella is that you can always get in contact with someone by phone any time if you incur any issues. The teachers all tend to have completely different expectations on APA formatting and you have to train yourself in different ways for each class. For the most part in my time at Capella I have found their online platform to be very user friendly with many resources.
