Academic courses were laid out well and helped me gain an in depth education of my current career. The professors were always available and other classmates easy to reach through the online course rooms. The online campus offers a wide variety of extremely helpful resourses such as a library, financial dashboard, and aid in reviewing and editing your assignments.

Wonderful experience. Capella allowed me the flexibility to obtain my MBA while working full time. They really care about their students.

Capella University was a great school to attend. Having the online only option was perfect for someone like me who was a stay at home Mom raising two children, one with special needs. I was able to focus on school as well as the needs of my family because of the schedule.

Capella is a for profit university that tries hard to care and provide value to its students but as with most online colleges the true value depends on the students ability to research and study. The professors are part time and the classes are templates used over and over again without much auditing of the information provided. Often you will find old outdated information in class links or assignments. While it is the duty of the professor to audit the course prior to starting, this seems to not happen or information is missed consistently. A lot of the times instructions are confusing and assignments are redundant. It seems as if you write papers on the same topics over and over again repeating information and unless you are diligent as a student to research the topic in depth, the amount of true learning can be minimal. If you are seeking a certificate at a masters level from a regionally accredited university, then Capella is by far the most reasonably priced and easiest university to obtain that degree. Expect to have minimal contact with your professors and classmates as they are scattered across multiple time zones. If you are diligent and do the bare minimum you will receive 100% most of the time. Rarely do you get a professor that is a stickler on grading. Majority of the time it seems, if you meet the minimum topics, pages, and assignment requirements you get a 100%, it doesn't matter if you write 100 page papers or 3 page papers you will get 100% if you discuss the topics required.

I've enjoyed my time thus far at Capella University. The flexibility it provides is exactly what I need at this time in my life. Professors are helpful and will to work with you. I feel the downfall of an online education is that yu only get out of it what you put into it as no one is there to force you to learn more. You must be dedicated to your education to succeed and make worth your education in online learning.

Capella allowed me the opportunity to pursue a PhD while raising a young son and working.

Graduation Year: 2017

I am currently working towards my Masters Degree in Industrial and organizational Psychology. I have found the classes to be challenging, but not overwhelming. I like the detailed feedback I have received from my professor, and my counselor or course tutor have been very helpful. Like any online program it is up to the individual to manage their time and workload effectively.
