I like that the MPA-IO program provides students with unique training in the subject matters of fraud, waste and abuse. As I build my career in the field of complaince and oversight, I know I am better equipped to be continuosly successful.

John Jay's MPA program is great for individuals who are planning to become effective managers in both public and private organizations. The professors and the head of the program are very helpful and are always availible for questions and concerns in this area. There are also various resources provided to help graduate students like myself have a smooth experience such as the writing center, public administration seminars and much more. Weekend and evening classes are offered for students working fulltime jobs or have a family at home. With all the pros, I can say there is a con. I wish more classes can be offered online in the MPA progam every semester. Other than that, John Jay has the best MPA progam and I would recommend people to see and experience everything that I have.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2016

The program-specific classes are ideal, however the number of required courses leaves very little room for electives that may aid in specialization. Moreover, there is basically no opportunity for financial aid for international students, whose employment is already limited by being on a student visa.

Degree: Forensic Psychology
Graduation Year: 2016

Pros - program specific classes focused on forensic psychology Cons- high level of inaccessibility for international students. SSN is required for identification and causes problems for non-Americans. Less opportunity for financial aid with double the costs in tuition.

Degree: Forensic Psychology

The administration is striving to make this a more academically competitive program, and rightly so, as the quality of the faculty is quite good. There are rampant problems with the administrative bureaucracy which can take your entire academic career to successfully navigate.

Degree: Forensic Science
Graduation Year: 2018

So far my experience with the Forensic Science faculty and student body has been very positive. Your peers are there to help as long as you ask and faculty members are more than willing to provide advice and counseling. I should have done my Undergraduate degree at CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice!!

I feel very proud and fortunate to have pursued MPA at John Jay. It gave me every opportunity to succeed personally and professionally. Its robust curriculum, outstanding faculty, diverse student body and vibrant campus life are truly remarkable. John Jay is known for criminal justice nationwide and now is the time for MPA to go national.
