It was too easy to be respected. Go to a reputable school. I wish I had gone somewhere as challenging as my undergraduate!

When I started the school was much smaller. In the time it has grown in popularity and is now known as "Dunk City." It is a great school and I feel as though it helped me with my future.

“
The Environmental Science M.S. program at Florida Gulf Coast University is very dedicated to solving environmental issues in the local Southwest Florida area. This program has a local focus, but the concepts learned can be applied to other areas throughout the state and country. The instructors are very intent on helping you learn the content and working around your schedule if you are a part time student. There are many scholarship and grant opportunities through the university and state for environmental science research. The financial aid offices are always able to work with you and see you that day if possible and helped me to feel at ease transitioning to this program of study.

This program was affordable and with the online learning, you were able to go at your own pace. The only thing that I did not like about certain courses was the need to participate in frequent discussion boards with other students. The design of these discussion boards felt like forced participation for nothing more than to have a grade, and the time frames for these discussions tended to have short windows.

The CACREP credited program is considered to be the gold seal for counseling programs. This is definitely one of the pros of the program. The workload is intense for the 3 year program and insane for the 2 year program.

The absolute best part about my graduate program is how small the program is. You get very close to the professors and classmates as you move through the program.
The only con I've found so far is the the school is not yet making all resources available to non-local distance learning students. For example, the library offers many worthwhile workshops; however, it's not convenient for me to drive 5 hours, take days off work, and find a hotel for every workshop I want to attend. I've asked the school to consider offering some of them as webcasts to those of us that wish to attend remotely.

I feel as though FGCU's Master of Social Work Program prepares students to enter the workforce by giving us real opportunities to shadow and experience professionals already working int eh field. It is a wonderful clinical program and I enjoy learning new things every day.
