The Pros of my graduate programs are: The professors have made online courses very simple to follow and has made my skepticism changed towards online courses. The professors are genuinely try to help and answer all the questions that I have. The cons are that: the career support does not take an aggressive approach to keep up with the ones that have reached out and tied to pursue the career in which we hold a degree.

At first I didn't' like the class set up of my program but I am excited that I have time to complete the internship and a break in between learning in a classroom setting.

I was very skeptical when I found out that I had to take a lot of my courses online. But the professors at Gardner-Webb University has truly made it possible for me to work and balance my education without feeling over loaded. I am grateful for the experience that I am experiencing with the online courses.

Gardner-Webb University and specifically the School of Nursing, is very welcoming and supportive. The faculty have been student advocates from day one. I love the family-like atmosphere that the university eludes. The campus is beautiful and well-maintained. I perform my studies online with the exception of spending one week on campus at the beginning of each semester, which works well with my career and family. There are not a lot of things to do within waling distance of the university, though there are numerous restaurants and activities within 10 miles.

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2016

Some of these areas I can't comment on, because I commute for evening classes and do not live or work in Boiling Springs. The best things about this program include: very friendly, helpful, involved faculty who are truly invested in your success; a general environment of kindness and love at Gardner-Webb; and a very manageable workload in the program that has made me feel challenged and encouraged to think for myself, yet not overwhelmed. The one thing so far that hasn't been completely satisfying for me is the lack of diversity in the student body and general mindset of those who attend the school. Most students appear to adhere to traditional, conservative Christian values, and it seems that the few students I've met who don't fit this mold feel somewhat alienated. Having said that, there is nothing hateful or condemning about the atmosphere at GW; literally everyone I've encountered at the school has been friendly kind, and courteous.

Degree: Religious Studies
Graduation Year: 2016

I am in the Dual Degree Program for Divinity and Mental Health Counseling. I enjoy both aspects of my program thoroughly, I was just a little discouraged with how long it will take me to complete. I feel like I was told one thing when I applied, and that in reality, it will take me longer than originally told. I do love the fact that students are given the option to take night and online courses for some classes. Professors and faculty are genuinely nice, and many try to help out as much as they can. We are truly a community at Gardner-Webb!

Degree: Curriculum & Instruction
Graduation Year: 2018

Gardner Webb is an excellent educational establishment to further your career and knowledge. the staff works with you along every aspect of the application process. The only thing that is a bit frustrating is the one option of a payment plan. As an educator I am always readjusting my paycheck to meet the needs for the month. I wish that I was able to either have a discounted tuition due to my career or be able to spread the balance over more than three payments.
