I am currently attending Grand Canyon University. I have a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with an emphasis in health and fitness. Now, I am pursing my masters degree online with GCU. The program is full of helpful staff. This includes the counselors and advisors as well. I have never been so blessed with having as much support as GCU gives. The program may not be the best for me when an outsider looks in. I'm obtaining a Masters in Secondary Education, however my focus is in physical education. This program does not focus on PE. I have taught myself to take the information, assignments, discussions and do a little additional research to learn how to pertain this to my future as a PE teacher. I would not go back and change the program I am in if I had to do it again. I am able to travel while focusing on my class at the same time because my classes are online. I have been blessed with the opportunities to do student observations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and my home state of Alaska. I plan to do my semester of student teaching back in Alaska and I look forward to my last three courses before that. I am over half way done with this program and very excited to graduate! I thank GCU for their love and support while I work towards this goal. I'd also like to add that online schooling is not for me. Yet, the teachers have made every effort to keep their students involved and active in the classroom. The courses cover diverse subjects that all future teachers would learn from. This program is very special and I am learning many techniques, strategies, and methods towards teaching diverse students.

GCU has supported me in obtaining the AZ Intern Certificate in order to make a smooth career change. I am now working as a teacher at a local high school and love it! The instruction is top notch. All of my classes are online, I have not stepped foot on campus, yet I feel very connected to the university. They emphasize collaboration and community, which makes such a difference! I highly recommend GCU!

Overall it's a great college experience, the university gives helping every step of the way when applying to the university.. My degree program is in Special Education online program. each class is about 22 student it feels like a actual classroom setting. we able to talk and ask questions about anything we might need help with. overall the program great so far. My main fear was having to much work all at once. But the classwork layout is very manageable during the course of the week. and each class is 6 week long.

I appreciate the guidance the advisors give to ensure you are successful in your program. The GCU staff is always available to assist and are extremely responsive to their students. The online classroom and student portal are easy to navigate and all your information is at your fingertips. The best feature about GCU is the school is faith-based and they incorporate devotionals in their curriculum.

I'm attending Grand Canyon University online master program. In Special Education k-12. When I first started looking into schools for my master degree. There were many option and course layouts .but overall what made me chose Grand Canyon University is the way they made my experience. They were very helpful right out of the gate. I told them what I wanted to get my degree in and they made the whole process easy. Overall the school and counselor are very helpful. There making my learning opportunity a great experience. And it encourages me to keep working hard. This is a very huge step for me getting into a master program. I was imitated at first but my counselor is also positive and helps me believe in myself. So overall great university. My degree is in special education K-12. The program that I chose in all online. I have one class every 6 weeks. Which is great so I don't have to worry about taking multiple class at once. I get all my school material from books and other sources online. Its help for me because Im already working as a full time teacher. So it makes it easier to focus on passing one class at a time. So I got 14 online class. And a 15 week student teaching at the school that Im currently working at. So the overall experience for me is great. The University made the applying process easy and always helped me with question no matter how small or big. I plan on getting my Ph.D. for this university.

I thoroughly enjoyed my Masters program at Grand Canyon University. What I enjoyed most was that I was able to continue working full-time and enjoyed the flexibility of the online environment. The platform was easy to use and there was continued online technical support that was very helpful when I needed it. Teachers communicated regularly with me and responded promptly to emails. I also enjoyed that you could start throughout the year. I was ready to start my program in October and was fearful that I would have to wait until the semester started in January, however, they have programs that start year round and I was lucky to be able to start with a group in October. They also design their online classes into cohorts, so you are with the same students throughout your program. This was extremely nice and allowed for great collaboration and help.

In the last 3 years, I have asked around different online schools regarding a Masters degree in Nursing but only felt the genuine support from a GCU counselor who, with her commitment, convinced me to enroll in GCU. In the process I realized that I made the right decision because GCU emphasizes on preparing its students by providing academically challenging and values-based curriculum with its values defined by its Christian heritage. This is reflected by their College of Nursing and Health Care Professions as it develops professionals reflecting Christian values. GCU continuously strive for improvement of its educational environment and curriculum evidenced by its constant academic innovation and school expansion to cater to its increasing population. The GCU College of Nursing has specifically addressed the evolving education needs by providing a platform for hands-on practice, online and lab simulations and in-depth peer discussions exploring best practices. Most importantly, they have a group of dedicated enrollment and educational counselors who are committed to assist the student every step of the way. They make a huge difference as they make the process less intimidating and bearable. I will definitely endorse GCU to my friends and people I know and already plan to pursue DNP at GCU later on.

Degree: Clinical Psychology
Graduation Year: 2016

As a student at Grand Canyon University, I was highly impressed with the degree of professionalism and thorough knowledge I received. I went to the school at age 52 after finding out that the bible college I had attended had no recognized accreditation. I thought I was too old to go back to school and too busy as a pastor to even pass the classes but to my surprise I earned my BS in Psychology and my Master's in Professional Counseling. The staff and the faculty was more than helpful. Best of all, I received excellent tutoring to help me through the long forgotten information from my statistics class in high school! Now I am retiring as pastor of my church but was just hired as the crisis counselor at The Salvation Army here in Phoenix, Arizona. I am grateful that both my education and and experience prepared and qualified me for a rewarding career as a counselor helping more people than I was as a Pastor with better pay. Now I have the potential to move up in the company, work with another company or school or have my own practice in this field that I love. After being so disappointed to find out that my degree from my bible college was virtually worthless I was skeptical about attending attending another Christian college but I checked out Grand Canyon University and found it to be sound and fully accreditation! As a pastor of an independent church, I didn't earn a retirement or pension fund so I needed to continue to earn an income for my wife and I. I wasn't too old and it wasn't too late! I still have a future and I plan to help every person who walk into my office and share with them everything I have learned in hopes that it will be a blessing to them and their life! Thank you Grand Canyon University.
