"For most of my courses, I am taking them at a satellite location, on Ocean County College. I love this program! The professors are wonderful, very knowledgeable, and extremely helpful! The college offers weekend classes, which is perfect for me because I work full-time during the week. All of the courses I need are offered at this location (except for 4 courses because I want to add on to my degree and get my LPC qualification.) I highly recommend School Counseling Program at Kean University! One of the best decisions I have made for myself!"

"I am writing this review as a soon-to-be graduate of Kean University. Overall, the school isn't terrible; it's better than Willie P or quite a few of the local private colleges. However, there are HUGE problems which never get adressed because of a certain vindictive presidents agenda. Not to mention, this individual is protected by powerful friends, including Sen. Ray Lensiak. With Lesniak and Farahi out of the picture, this could be a solid school; the professors are usually as qualified as elsewhere. With them steering the boat, I wouldn't put a dead dog on the grass. Thankfully, I have a job secured with a well-known class one railroad in Virginia upon my graduation, (which is exactly what I wanted) so everything worked out in the end. (Actually, walking on the grass carries a $75 fine, courtesy of dear leader, so forget about putting anything on the grass.)"

"Kean offers a great grad program for counseling. Very good professors who care and will work with you. The only con I can offer is that parking on campus is very limited."

"Although tuition is relatively high, it is much more affordable than other graduate programs for the same field. In addition, the counseling programs at Kean are directed towards a specific field, or a general program which guides counselors towards their LPC; these options were not available at other graduate schools I researched in New Jersey."

"The pros are the uniqueness of the program and the location in relation to NYC. The only con is the lack of program variety at the Kean Ocean campus."

"Kean University has been a wonderful atmosphere to receive my undergraduate degree. So much so, that I decided to attend the Nathan Weiss Graduate School - Marriage & Family Counseling program. This university obtains a comforting atmosphere, strives to constantly improve the student experience and provides excellent professors to be mentors."

"I graduated from Kean with my undergraduate degree in psychology and psychiatric rehabilitation with an affiliation to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) before it became Rutgers University. The fact that I graduate from Kean in my home town is a big deal. I was offered a professional position within my field for a non-profit mental health facility before I even had my diploma in hand just because the recruiting officer new I came from Kean University. I continue to work within my agency and now wish to grow more within the clinical and administrative aspect. Kean University's graduate program not only holds a variety of options to specialize under my career but also offers a well-credited major that allows you to meet the requirements to sit for licensing and certification exams."

"Professors are passionate and each takes a unique approach to the task. However, while the education was a positive experience nothing was done in terms of career support or advisement. No college credit is given for internships anywhere, with any organization, and it seemed like they were trying to phase out the program when I was there"

"The program is enexpensive for the degree you receive. However, be aware that one cannot do much with a master's degree in Psychology. It is simply a stepping stone to a doctoral program. If you are interesting in finishing school with a master's degree, I suggest you enroll in a program that sets you up to meet the requirements for licensure."

"The staff is brilliant but if you want to get the most of your education you have to not only challenge yourself but partner with people who are as dedicated, focused and brilliant than you are. Try to stay away from people who are there to get a better paying job to pay for the wedding of their dreams unless you are that type of person as well. Just being honest."

"The MAGH program is designed to challenge students to look at history from a individual and broad spectrum approach. I feel that the program at Kean University provides an academic rigor that is found at more expensive universities. I am proud to be a part of it!"

"The only con to the program is school name ... It isnt very recognizable in the state of New Jersey or the east Coast for that matter... The highest competitor is Rutgers, However, I wouldnt go to Rutgers if you paid me to...the quality of education is outstanding at Kean University, and I have learned so much from the faculty and gained several future colleagues. the networking opportunities are awesome as well!"

"I have had a positive experience with my current graduate studies at Kean University. The small campus allows for a positive staff/student ratio."
