"Great program in terms of curriculum. Facilities are outdated. More stress on skills outside of research for finding a career to fit individuals is much needed. Over-strained administration causes many oversights."

"Kent is a highly desirable campus d/t it's location. Grad. school is a big undertaking, there are some courses that are not available on-line, it would be helpful to have these resource at regional satellite campus locations. Access to library resources and on-line assistance are available."

"Tell us about your college experience.Great fit. Small campus, close to home where I lived.Would you get the same degree if you could start over?Anything more in demand. Probably pre-med/nursing.What advice can you offer other students?Get a degree that will get you a job! Be realistic. Talk to career services and be DIRECT: "Will X degree get me a job?" Find something you enjoy AND that will get you a job! Archaeology and translation are fun, but you can't get a job after you study them."

"The pros include strong professional practice classes, creative thinking processes, and theoretical design strategies. The cons include heavy workloads, lacking quantity of professors that provide a narrow framework of educators, and difficult time schedule that interferes with the ability to maintain a full time job to help support oneself during school."

"Pros: mostly excellent and very supportive professors. Professors are more than willing to meet and discuss outside of assigned times, Cons: administrative side seems a little disorganized."

"Kent State was a great school to attend, but I felt I was very limited to in-state opportunities after graduation. I now live in Chicago and am very disappointed Kent's alumni network is not strong outside of the Northeast Ohio region. My experience itself at Kent was very positive, but the post-grad networking opportunities need further development if Kent hopes to be a top school."

"The affordability matched with a distinguished faculty and accessible facilities makes Kent State a good choice for students, however, the breadth of cutting edge technologies and foci of studies makes one have to make serious compromises for a strong, increasingly digital, education in the 21st century."

"In the Cultural Foundations program at Kent State learning is challenging and inspiring. I have developed my thought process through the rigorous academic studies while broadening my network of scholars and other graduate students in the field of comparative and international education. The professors are supportive and encourage a collegiate environment."

The support from varying staff members is constant and always helpful. The level of academic expectation and assistance in acheivement provides incentive for success. Its a great program and experience!"

"I am currently in the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Program and I find that the program is very demanding as it should be. It has a rigorous course load and challenging board exams, however I do think the program curriculum has provided us with all the necessary tools to succeed. The program is small and focused on students. However, I feel the doctors and professors are not always proficient. Also, our clinics lack materials and resources needed to treat patients with the care they need. Yet, skills are still taught to us as best as possible. Overall, my graduate program will have me ready for residency, even if it did lack the academic talent that is associated with other like schools."

"I feel the doctoral program in Curriculum and Instruction is extremely more in depth and answers the questions I still held after finishing the Masters program at Kent State University. Although I took the same program as a Masters student, the course work is completely different. Many choices of study focus on the individual students' interest and the work is enjoyable because of this important aspect. I have completed my bachelors, masters, and now working toward my PhD at Kent State and all of my experiences have been positive and completely different in all of my programs. I have stayed in the Education program and at first felt that I did not get enough support but I realize now that I was at that point just begining my career and was lost, confulsed and overall very overwhelmed with college myself. I do not know if anyone could really help me understand how to get through college but my own self. I would highly suggest Kent State to other students looking for a college to attend. The student body is very diverse and the professors have been extremely welcoming expecially as you continue your education at a higher level."

"The M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications program is offered on-campus and online. It makes for a perfect balance for professionals who work full-time and are seeking an advanced degree. Although the workload and course assignments can be considered "intense," they are enriching and the interactions I have had with other professionals from around the nation have been insightful and beneficial towards my development as a public relations professional. Using Blackboard, the university oversees online interaction and professors are always available and helpful if I have questions. I've found the program to be a great help to my understanding of both practical and theoretical public relations strategies."
