Student & Graduate Reviews

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2015

Liberty offers a quality education that focuses on integrating Christianity into its curriculum.

This was a completely online course so it is hard to evaluate on campus questions. This was academically challenging, but there did not seem to be a lot of support from professors. There was no follow-up program to help me gain employment. The financial aid was really slow in processing. The last term, I was more than halfway through the courses before receiving financial aid.

My entire experience with Liberty has been very very pleasant. I have actually recommended the University to several people who have since enrolled.

If you are looking for a good education, but also want a Christ centered education, then Liberty is the place to go. If you are one who doesn't care for religion at all, then the atmosphere may be a little bitt choking for you. Generally, I love the school.

Degree: Elementary Education
Graduation Year: 2015

The pros are being able to take most of my courses online as I do not live in the area. The content is comprehensive and I really feel I learn and retain a lot of information. The cons are the residency requirements because it is expensive to have to go to Lynchburg three times for a week at a time.

Degree: Counseling
Graduation Year: 2017

Liberty offers a blended program for a PhD in counseling which meets my current educational needs since I am already working in the field. They have extremely gifted and inspirational staff both for online and in person classes. The only con which will be the barrier for most students is high tuition.

(Note: my overall grade would be higher if there were "N/A" options for those of us who take courses online.) Overall, Liberty University is an excellent institution. I have been extremely impressed with the quality of the courses, and the caliber of the professors. The application and admissions processes were very easy; however, with the courses being well above average in rigor, I would not be surprised if there were a higher-than-average attrition rate. The online class format is 8-weeks long, and the courses workload and expectations can be demanding. Overall, I am very pleased with the education I have received at Liberty to-date. I just wish there were more financial aid opportunities for online students (especially grad students!)

I have started several grad programs, but this has been the best. I have been able to stick with this program. It is very challenging and very rewarding. The faculty and staff truly care about you.

Pros: Christian worldview Mostly online degree Small classes Great professors Flexibility Study at home Cons: Online classes aren't as interactive Expensive

Degree: Educational Leadership
Graduation Year: 2015

I do not have information to comment on some of the categories (e.g. transportation) as I am an online student living in another state. As for the online curriculum, I have enjoyed my experiences and feel that I've gained a combination practical and theoretical knowledge that allows me to be an outstanding and innovative leader in education.
