The professors are helpful and knowledgeable. The campus is beautiful and there are a lot of great Major offerings. Miami University and Oxford create a small community.

Miami University is a great school for undergraduates because its a small college town with professors focused on education. For History Masters students, the program is very supportive with both professors and funding.

I cannot say enough positive things about Miami University. Almost every professor that I had was attentive, professional, caring and passionate. These people want you to succeed and do everything they can to help you get to where you want to be. The campus is beautiful and I feel like I was 100% prepared for my career. Miami University is a great choice and I highly recommend it.

Receiving my Master's Degree from Miami University was a great way to prepare me for the work force. Miami is a great school to attend and offers a wide variety of degrees in many different fields of study. My professors treated me with respect and were always willing to help me when I needed it.

Going to Miami was one of the best decisions I ever made. The faculty members were invested in helping us achieve our professional goals. I was provided ample opportunities for growth in the classroom and in the field in which I was planning on entering.

From a scholarly standpoint, the faculty in my program were second to none. They are nothing short of brilliant. However, their commitment to their scholarship supersedes their commitment to teaching. Their research, while highly sought after in academia and among their peers, does not trickle down to those individuals who actually need to hear it. Their research is based on what they enjoy, not what we need. It is a club and it is exclusive to those wanting to pursue a faculty position in higher education. If you want to practice students affairs, this is not the program for you. You will get nothing on higher ed law, budgeting, or administration. You will spend two years reflecting and regurgitating your own story over and over again. And while those things certainly have their place, they do very little in terms of cultivating sustainable change. What they are teaching in the SAHE program at Miami and what is actually going on in higher education are two very different things. A majority of the faculty have never actually practiced within student affairs, so consider that when they are teaching how to work with students.

Degree: Biology
Graduation Year: 2018

The Project Dragonfly program at Miami University is an excellent program for anyone looking to get their master's. It's an online program that allows me to work a full-time job while earning a master's degree in biology. I have made great connections with people all over the world and even get the opportunity to study abroad in the summer for 9 days! Although the program is all online, your professors are extremely personable and are always happy to facetime/skype with you to answer any questions you may have. This program is amazing, highly recommend it!
