Degree: Civil Engineering
Graduation Year: 2017

Well, I confirmed my enrollment in Michigan Tech a couple of days ago and I will start MS in Civil Engineering in January 2016. I have contacted a couple of professors of my department and they were always available. I also contacted the staffs as well as the alumni for a better understanding of the university's environment and I found it to be excellent. I always loved to study in a quiet environment and the location for an academic institution can never get better at Michigan Tech for that reason. As far as I can see, I am about to have a great time at Michigan Tech which is also one of the best institutions in the state of Michigan. Everything comes with demerits and it would be very biased to say that Michigan Tech is flawless. Although the quiet location is pretty good to put ones mind in ones studies, its pretty cold out there so people who are going to move there from a lesser cold place will obviously feel the chill. Since I am from New York, I always had the convenience of getting into a subway to travel around but in Houghton I guess traveling experience will be pretty different. Other than that, I believe that Michigan Tech is one of a kind which accepts people from every background to one united family.

Michigan Tech is a small school with attentive, dedicated and knowledgeable professors always willing to help students both inside and out of the classroom. They pride themselves on hands-on experience to reinforce the material covered. The Upper Peninsula is a great area, with friendly people, affordable prices, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
