I would recommend going to another school to really be prepared to be a teacher. I do not recommend the Chicago campus. I had some excellent teachers but overall the program was not a high level.

The small online cohort that I am a part of as I pursue my masters with National Louis University s phenomenal. The professors are always available for to help with assignments or offer insight, even for outside of class, career issues and questions. I feel close to the faculty and have enjoyed exploring more about becoming a leader in my school.

National -Louis University has a wonderful Masters program for adult students. The staff was knowledgeable and really worked with the individual student to ensure success. The professors seemed to understand the needs of adult students and were flexible when it related to assignments and schedules. I attended most of my classes at a satellite location, but a few classes were only held at the main campus in Chicago. I would highly recommend National -Louis University for adult students who are looking to obtain an advanced degree, but have to maintain a full time job and/or family life.

National Louis prepared me to enter education in a very short period of time. Although it was more pricey than other options, the short nine month program was exactly what I was looking for at the time.

I will be graduating in the class of 2017 counseling program. However, I have been in this program for over 2 years and I look forward to attending school each week. I love the cohort style of learning. It is very personal and affords both the staff and other cohorts to build a relationship ( the first training of mock clients). I was a little apprehensive in regards to the 9 month internship because I work full-time also. I am happy to say that so far everything is working out and I feel really good right now about my future. I have a supportive environment all around me and that is priceless. My school and my current job are both assisting in making my dreams a reality by offering hands- on support . I am a huge National Louis Counseling cohort fan and I would definitely recommend this program to other potential counseling students. I would like to commend the professors who work diligently everyday trying to offer support and guidance to the students albeit weekdays or weekends.

While I feel that the University as a whole has not done the best job communicating with me on changes to requirements, that would be the biggest downside. I have enjoyed my classes thus far and I feel my teachers do well preparing us to have our own classroom. While I have not put the practices into action, I am confident that I will be prepared when the time comes to teach.
