Degree: Special Education

Pros: I feel that the online experience was an efficient way to access curriculum for people who don't have the time or means to commute to a brick and mortar type setting. The quality of the online facilitators was high, and technology to access courses was very adequate, notwithstanding minor technical glitches. Cons: Exorbitant price is the only con that makes this program an intimidating experience. There will always be a day for payback, and that is coming soon. Job or no job!

I love the classroom atmosphere at National University. While attending classes is an online experience, the teachers, course format, and assignments help to create a community where students can interact with each other just as if they were in person. Moreover, the subject knowledge, professionalism, and support offered by the instructors is superb. Lastly, National University offers an affordable graduate tuition rate and many scholarships are available for students with financial needs. I and extremely happy with my choice of graduate studies and plan to possibly complete my PhD with National University.

An online program requires a lot of self-regulation to keep up with the work and balance a full time job as well as family too. I am grateful for the opportunity to be at school because I feel that everything I learn I am able to apply to apply at the school that I work with and helps me to build on my experience.

Pros: Can pretty much study anywhere. Classmate and instructor interaction is required through discussion boards and live chat sessions. Cons: Wish the program was a mixture of online and in-class instead of completely all online.

Very expensive education, heavy workload for those who work as well as attend school.

Degree: Business Administration
Graduation Year: 2012

The pro's of the school were that the program I chose to participate in was almost exclusively online. I did not have to go to the campus except for the final exam which had to be completed onsite in the computer lab. The con's were that one could not interact physically with a teacher in a classroom since the program was online and classmates only communicated online. There was no "campus life" to speak of since there was not a residence hall. The university caters to working professionals and non-traditional students.

I am very pleased with National University. I wish it was more affordable, but it has given me the flexibility I needed to be able to continue to work while obtaining my teaching credential as well as pursuing my Masters in Human Behavior.
