I love the graduate program at NSU. I am in a blended off campus/online program. The instructors are AMAZING. They are extremely knowledgeable and are always there to help. The campus is beautiful and and the town is rich in history. The cost to attend is the most affordable I have found. So far I haven't really found any cons of this graduate program.

I really love this program. It's not ridiculously competitive, it's definitely a more supportive atmosphere than other school's I've attended. They give you ample opportunity to teach as well as continue your education. The professor's here are all very supportive and eager to help every student succeed

Pro: Professors are there to assist when needed. Con: Wish it was advertised more so that more people could take advantage of this great program.

The sciences at Northeastern for undergraduates are fantastic! The Co-op program is amazing. The graduate departments tend to be lacking, with the exception of chemistry which seems to be well supported in the College of Science. Some advisors are excellent, but others let students fall through the cracks - it is an uneven distribution and the quality of education you get depends on who you end up working with.

Northeastern State University is a beautiful campus that was named number 11 in '30 Most Attractive Yet Affordable College Campuses.' It has a small town feel and is located near the Illinois River. Northeastern State University is also well known for its Cherokee Heritage- Seminary Hall is a pristine building that was formerly known as the Cherokee Female Seminary. The Higher Education Leadership program is very strong, with many colleagues enrolled to help one another with classes and to learn more about their institution.

While I love some of my professors there, there are others that are sub par at best. Trying to be advised is a nightmare.

The pros of this program are the excellent faculty, the other students in the program, and the practical experience gained in the classroom. The main con is the small commuter campus leading to the lack of a ton of educational resources on campus.

Very limited scholarship opportunity for the Masters of Ed. department.

I love my graduate program and the professors I have had so far. The main disadvantage of this program is the fact that they really do not cater to most working adults (the bulk of classes start prior to 5 p.m.).
