It is a great school with a wide range of courses available to its students. However, the advisory department is lacking and you often have to find your own answers.

I am very satisfied with the level of education that the counseling program provides at Northern Illinois University. We are accredited by CACREP, and have some wonderful teachers and professors. Many of our professors have help e-board positions on ACA divisions. They have real world experience and critical thinking skills that allow us to have elaborate discussions in class. I am very happy that I have chosen to attend Northern Illinois University to obtain my Master's degree in School Counseling.
