Small enough to get attention you deserve but big enough to get the education. Beautiful campus.

The school was challenging but fair. Group projects were frequent in every class but were rewarding in the end.

Degree: Nursing

I completed my nursing degree at Oakland University and am so excited to be pursuing my masters in Nurse anesthesia there as well. the Faculty are great to work with and want to see all of their students succeed. Their programs are rigorous but do a great job at training their students to be a well rounded professional when they come out of school!

Oakland University is located in Rochester, Michigan about 30 minutes from downtown Detroit. The campus at OU is beautiful and there has been a lot of new construction of dormitories, athletic facilities, and parking structures. Most students commute to campus, however, in recent years more undergraduates have moved to the campus. Graduate students (Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine) tend to live off campus in one of the many nearby and affordable apartment complexes. The gym is amazing, and there are always fun and free classes to attend. OU is also home to Meadowbrook Music Hall and Meadowbrook Amphitheatre which are sites for symphonies, plays, and concerts.

I truly enjoyed my experience at OU. The instructors were caring and understanding and worked with me to meet my career goals, the student body is diverse and the campus was safe and welcoming.

Oakland's Masters in teaching degree allowed me to continue working up until student teaching. The cohort program was especially beneficial as I've built bonds with fellow students that I still continue today. It allowed us to support each other, network, and share ideas that have continued to enrich my teaching.

Oakland University is a great school! The professors and staff and very hands on and care alĀ ot about their students. I had been thinking about going back to school but the traditional on campus environment was not suitable for my busy schedule. That's why I was elated to hear about all of their online program offering. I would recommend Oakland University to anyone looking to further their education!

For the most part, the IB Teacher / Masters of Education program is designed very well, and there is plenty of time to get through all the material. Not having face-to-face discussions is fine since there is an online forum for people to share their thoughts and ideas. I wish there were some more financial aid options, but I guess that's the current nature of the beast at this school. I can't comment on the school's security, career support, the surrounding area, etc. because I am one hundred percent online. Thanks!

Pros: Professors are willing to help you every step of the way both in the classroom as well as in your career. Cons: Not many classes to choose from, time wise
