Degree: Health Sciences
Graduation Year: 2016

OHSU was a great university that enabled learning by distance for a master's degree in biomedical informatics. Excellent teachers at the leading edge of the field and a proven track record with many years of successful graduates.

Graduation Year: 2020

Oregon Health & Science University is an excellent medical school with a variety of strengths and few weaknesses. Strengths include a very strong basic science research program, particularly in cellular biology and oncology, as well as excellent primary care education. Weaknesses include less support for students wishing to pursue highly competitive specialties.

OHSU is an amazing school with a progressive curriculum and truly cares about it's students. The best part about YourMD is the ability the curriculum has to adapt and change with the student's needs and wants. Ease of transport to and from campus makes attending classes feasible for people who live all over the city but they also have an online component to re-watch the lectures or just stay home and watch the lectures from home.

Degree: Dentistry
Graduation Year: 2019

Oregon Health and Science University School of Dentistry is on the cutting edge of the dental field. With a huge emphasis on evidence-based dentistry, a brand new school, rigorous training with today's latest technology (including CAD/CAM, stereolithography file manipulation, and implant technology), and numerous visits from outside dental technology representatives(i.e. implant company representatives), we have a great opportunity to become immersed quickly and completely in the dental field as students at OHSU. The first year of school includes a vast and in-depth review of the basic sciences including clinical anatomy, head and neck anatomy, histology, microbiology, biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology, immunology, and pathology. In addition, first-year students dive into operative dentistry, periodontics, and removable/fixed prosthodontics in a simulation lab by practicing on mannequins with plastic teeth. The second year refines the clinical skills and incorporates many treatment planning exercises to prepare for the live-patient clinic in the third and fourth years. The third and fourth years are dedicated to clinical work with live patients, in addition to continued study in the clinical sciences. These years dedicate time to external rotations in which dental students have the opportunity to travel to a rural clinic and practice dentistry with more autonomy (but with supervision). This allows them to get an idea of real-world dentistry, especially with managing more patients in a day and having multiple chairs occupied at one time. This is a unique experience that not many dental schools have! Some graduates decide to continue their education in a specialty residency, but all graduates from OHSU are clinically ready and confident in their ability to provide oral care to a diverse patient population in the fast-changing world of dentistry!

Degree: Healthcare Administration
Graduation Year: 2017

The health management program of OHSU's Division of Management provided me with the best way to complete my master's degree after taking courses in many different programs in the past. The program is a great combination of mostly online learning with on campus face-to-face courses that enhance the learning, but are not burdensome. The combination experience really helped lead to my success in completing the program while also providing access to the many resources within OHSU's School of Medicine and other departments.

Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2018

OHSU's nurse anesthesia program is rigorous and demanding. The program sets up their students for success. I highly recommend this wonderful program for anyone considering nurse anesthesia. It is a 27 month MSN program with front loaded didactic courses and full time clinical rotations during the last year.

Degree: Dentistry
Graduation Year: 2019

With all of the changes happening, OHSU SOD is not the same as before. Many new staffs were hired and they all have research background. This school has transformed from a very clinical-based school to a research/evidence-based program. The curriculum has changed where everything is speed up. Students do not have enough time to practice their hand-skills and also learn all of the important information for Boards.

Degree: Pharmacy
Graduation Year: 2018

As a pharmacy student at OHSU, we get to interact with other students in different professions such as dentistry, medicine, and nursing. This gives us the opportunity to practice our skills in different settings and learn from other professions. The technology at OHSU is amazing and there is ample quiet space for students to study after class without being bothered. There is also a Starbucks in the lobby of the Collaborative Life Sciences Building, which is a bonus for late night studying. The only con is trying to find a decently priced living situation. Other than that, no complaints!

The ability to take majority of the courses online is awesome. Campus classes are available in the evening and weekends as well. Great program for the working individual.
