Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2016

The pros are that the student to teacher ratio is small, affordable tuition, hands on experience. cons: small university and not enough close resources.

Degree: Social Work

I have just recently started the program so I am grading with limited experience. I will return and grade when I have been in the program awhile.

This graduate program is definitely competitive which I believe is a pro. However, the majority of the subject matter is geared towards the Hispanic population and I feel that I am not able to fully develop a level of complete competency. The program is also very long compared to other graduate programs. This program lasts 3 1/2 years.

Our lady of the lake has offered a wonderful online program. The staff of every department very helpful. Tuition can always be lower, but that goes for every institution.

Very competitive. Teacher's are very helpful and informative. The school is expensive, but hopefully worth it.

Degree: Psychology

The School Psychology graduate program is fantastic. This is one of the few programs where you're still a person and not a number, or a ranking. The faculty do care about YOUR professional development, and not their personal career goals (e.g., tenure). Great "human" program!

The graduate program is Federally designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution, OLLU has the highest percentage of Hispanic enrollment at both the undergraduate (63 percent) and graduate (54 percent) levels of all Catholic universities in the country. In addition, OLLU is among the top 60 public and private universities nationwide to award master's degrees to Hispanics. More than half of OLLU's undergraduate students complete an internship. The University also maintains a counseling center and a speech and hearing clinic to serve area residents while providing students valuable clinical experience working with real clients.

I am earning my degree via the online program, but I am a resident of San Antonio. I feel the online program is great and convenient due to my busy work schedule and family life. I am very happy with the program so far.

Degree: Liberal Arts
Graduation Year: 2013

The graduate social work program is time friendly, for the simple fact that if a student acquires their bachelors in the social work program at Our Lady of the Lake University (a private institution) the masters program is only a year long. This is both feasible and financially beneficial for the student, I am living proof.

Degree: Social Sciences
Graduation Year: 2016

Our Lady of the Lake has many rigorous and valuable graduate programs but I only have personal knowledge of the School Psychology program. I believe it to be very worthy of a serious student interested in working with children in a school setting.
