"I attended the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey (UMDNJ), Graduate School of Biomedical Science Program from 2011-2012. I earned my Master's in Biomedical Science through 30 units of science courses. Pros: I have had the pleasure of getting to meet with some of the most well respected teachers at UMDNJ. The professors were easy going and easy to work with, very accessible and approachable. They were very genuine and knowledgeable with their respective fields. Two of the professors wrote me letters of recommendations for dental school helping me gain acceptance to one of my top choices. The school and the student body was very diverse, courses were challenging, and resources were plentiful. I also lived near campus in student housing which was very convenient. And lastly, New York was a short bus and train ride away! Cons: Safety was always on my mind even though I lived right beside campus. Students had to be constantly aware of the surroundings to say the least. Newark itself is not the most desirable city to live in. The school use of technology was lacking in some departments such as the computer printing stations. Computers and printers were extremely slow and printing pages were limited. And the amount of accommodations and amenities were lacking."

"UMDNJ is a well-established well-respected institute with campuses throughout the state of NJ. They offer in-state tuition which is a lot less than other similar caliber schools. The academics are strong and the graduates go on to some of the best post-graduate training programs in the nation."

"The Rehabilitation Counseling program is a great way to get into psychology and counseling without having to take a GRE. Since my undergraduate study was in English I had no idea whether I would be able to score decently on a standardized test in Psychology. However, due to my work experience and general interests, I knew that counseling was for me. This program provided an opportunity to get in the field that was based on my motivation and experience rather than my ability to take a test. A drawback, in my opinion, is the size of the program. I was told the class sizes for the previous graduating class was around six people. This means not much variation as far as the opinion in the class go. I'm used to larger classes."

"Their are pros because of some of the content we are learning and how we are learning and engaging with it. The cons are the diversity in programs, and the type of information that focuses on certain economic areas."

"Rutgers lacks financial aid resources and early morning dining hall hours and some campus areas lack security. Dorm rules should be revised to allow for more than 4 nights a month for out of state visitors. Staff is very supportive."

"Pros: small class size compared to my undergraduate institution. Friendly students, accessibility to professors and a very helpful financial aid department. The campus is safe and parking lot is spacious. The library is well equipped. CONS: Poor computer and printing facility. Stratford is quite a boring area. There is a need for a greater variety of science classes with varying number of credits to choose from."

"Some pros about the University of Medicine and Dentistry, Biomedical Science Program - Direct access and communication to faculty, students, and admissions of the D.D.S. Program. THe program offers a variety of courses to take and offers several concentrations. However, the program includes many cons - out dated facilities and resources, perilous surroundings, and a subpar education."
