"This graduate program has an excellent emphasis on social justice as it relates to community organizing and policy analysis. This program also offers an excellent network of alumni. A deeper level of cultural competence emphasis would make this program really effective. More social events available for students to connect with each other could enhance our learning as well."

"The University of Connecticut - Hartford (School of Social Work) is a commuter school and lacks a rich on campus presence. The courses are excellent and challenging. The staff are all great and supportive.I have had a great experience at this university thus far."

"The graduate program is well run administratively, however, this differs as you look at the sub departments. With so many graduate students (about 140), it is difficult to create or belong to a culture within the department. Some sub departments are guided more by politics than by research, at which point both faculty and students suffer. On the other hand, such a large department allows for many disciplines to be studied and opens the doors for inter and intra departmental collaboration. Additionally, new technology such as the MRI on campus is really adding to the value of a UCONN Psychology degree."

"UCONN was a great school. My advisors were very helpful in helping me attain my scholastic goals. The professors were very knowledgeable and cared about the well being of the student. There are many trails and rustic type activities to engage in if you're interested in the outdoors."

"UConn has a great reputation and pharmacy is a small world so reputation is important. Some of the professors are better than others but you'll find that anywhere. Overall, it's a fantastic program and I'm glad I chose it."

"The faculty and staff at the University of Connecticut are extremely helpful and push students to think critically and expand their knowledge each day. There are so many opportunities for hands-on learning outside of the regular lecture hall, and instructors are knowledgeable and open to alternative modes of instruction. Being at the University of Connecticut has made me an excellent academic researcher."

"UConn has anything you will ever need. If you know what you want in a school, they'll be sure to have it. If you're pretty fickle and always change your mind about what you like or are involved in, they will be able to cater to all your needs. The sports are amazing, the people are great, and you won't forget your time at UConn for the rest of your life."

"I loved UCONN. It was a place where I made lasting friendships and met fantastic people. Everyone thinks UCONN is huge but once you find your group of friends and get into your classes it really does feel small and like a community."

"My experience with the faculty and staff at UConn as a graduate student in the School of Fine Arts has been incredible. My class sizes are no more than ten students, my professors make themselves available whenever I need them and the facilities are nice! I have everything I need to be successful in one place. The work load is heavy as is to be expected. Graduate assistant pay is low when considering the cost of housing in the surrounding area, but the value of the education that I'm receiving balances the scales. I'm grateful for the opportunity to study at UConn."

"The English program is one of the best organized and financially supported at the University. There are some truly great faculty members, and it's one of the University's top grad programs. Students and faculty alike are sociable, welcoming, and especially active within the school and community. The remote location might be a con for some people, especially because it's accompanied by a high cost of living. If you lack your own transportation, getting around will be difficult. On the upside, the graduate student government helps with transportation concerns and sponsors a lot of cultural and social events to help form a graduate community."

"I did the Accelerated Master's at the West Hartford Campus and it was such a personalized and useful experience. Because of the small nature of the program, they could really tailor to the needs of each cohort and I have gained lifelong colleagues and friends through this program whom I still network with. This is a must for teachers looking for a program in education that already have a bachelor's degree!"
