There are many pros to attending Thomas M. Cooley Law School. It provides a well rounded legal education that prepares students for not only the State Bar, but also for real life practice. The faculty have a wide range of professional experience that they pass on to the students. Students who attend Cooley get the prestige of being a student at a private law school, while paying less than other private law schools. One of the greatest things about Cooley is they give students a chance. Many law school look at LSAT score and if it isn't high enough, you won't get in. However, Cooley recognizes that not everyone is good at standardized testing, but are still capable of being amazing advocates. The one main disadvantage to the law program is how intense it is. Students attend class for 14 weeks, have a midterm and a few mandatory ungraded assignments and have to apply everything we learned in a strictly timed test. If your GPA goes below a certain level your are done. Even though it is a downside, it is necessary because of the pressure we will deal with in actual practice.

Pros: Very valuable legal education. I feel like the professors are very genuine and want you to succeed in their classes as well as doing well on the bar. I believe I have some of the best professors and practicing attorneys in the state that will lead me to a rewarding and enticing career in the future. Getting experience during legal education is also very important to me and Cooley offers just that. Cons: The amount of lawyers in the law profession makes it a very competitive job market. It is almost certainly a dog eat dog world and you have to strive to do you best to make it as an attorney. Another con would be the tuition prices, as they seem to continuously be increasing every year. If they keep raising the tuition, it might not be available to people who want to pursue a legal career.

The staff and faculty are very supportive and understanding of the students needs. There is not much of a social life in the surrounding area. However that is positive since law school requires a lot of study time.

Thomas M. Cooley has been a rewarding experience. I love the availability of my professors and the support of the staff. There seems to be limited financial assistance.

This program offers a lot of networking as well as hands on experience. We compete with some of the best law schools in the country and knock them out of the water. The staff members are all experienced in their field and offer real life hypos in class.

The workload is intense at this school. This is to be expected because it is a law school. The student body is extremely supportive. All of the professors that I have had are approachable. They take a genuine interest in the lives of their students. They are always available for office hours if you need to come in and talk about a case, a paper, or something going on in your personal life. This is a great school to attend.

While getting into the school may be easy, the work is no different from what you receive at any other law school. The professors challenge you and push you to do better. It is a great experience. The location of the Tampa Bay campus is a little odd.

This school may be smaller and not as well known, but the education is equal to those of larger schools and is great for the working student!
