It was a great experience. I liked that the school was small and I have received individual attention from the professors. They were genuinely interested in my success at school and provided me tools to be successful once I've graduated.

I highly recommend Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio. The Master of Arts in American History and Government (MAHG) Program at Ashland is a hybrid and online master's degree program, allowing us to combine the education of a traditional in-person classroom setting in the summers to the easiness of learning from home during the school year. All of our MAHG classes involve education advancing to the next level; our classes are taught by master scholars from universities around the nation in an intense, live online classroom. Live online classes during the school year last two to three hours each class session, depending on how many times your class meets each week. Intensive classes during the summers allow for us to live on campus to attend classes that last one week each through the hours of approximately 9am-3pm, with breaks throughout the day. The MAHG program is designed for the benefit of our professional teaching lives, as most MAHG students are public and/or private secondary school Educators. MAHG classes focus on what to teach for Social Studies and English, not how to teach the subjects and content. One aspect I love about Ashand University MAHG Program is that we are invited to take the first class for free to get the best understanding of the intensive program and what is expected from us as students. So far, In live online classes that meet no more than twice a week and one-week classes in the summer, I have learned more through the MAHG program that I did during an entire semester of Social Studies classes during my undergraduate education.

Degree: MBA
Graduation Year: 2014

I greatly enjoyed the MBA program at Ashland. The professors were knowledgeable and the classes were very diverse, which helped prepare me for my career. The small class sizes were nice and enabled the professor to get to know each individual student. Every class had group projects to showcase what we learned. Overall, I can't imagine having a much better MBA experience.

Degree: MBA
Graduation Year: 1989

I like MBA Graduate programs because it gives me an opportunity to become a better me. I will improve myself and make me more marketable on the Job. The Diversified courses that are taught will make me relevant in practically all career areas from the service industry such as Restaurants to Financial industry- Banking and Insurance, to Manufacturing and indeed Education. The Volume of reading and research work is another advantage as our knowledge base is further enhanced. Also I have come across Professors who have been teaching for several years and also have practical experiences in their various fields and therefore communicate effectively in class. On the flip side, I do not honestly see any disadvantage of being in Graduate school. The most important thing for me is that I will be a better me at the end of the day.

I think that if you are working full time and attending school full time it is hard to pay for your classes.

Degree: Business Administration
Graduation Year: 2016

One of the things that I like best about Ashland's graduate program is that it offers hybrid classes instead of simply giving online only, or class only options. These hybrid classes meet in person three or four times for the duration of the class while the primary workload is given online. These classes are able to give the personal touch I desire in my classes without inconveniencing my busy schedule with weekly in-person sessions. It is also nice that these classes can be held at different satellite locations around the area. To be able to take my in-person classes in Stark county, where I live, rather than needing to drive to Ashland's main campus for every class really eases the burden of graduate school. If I had to name a con, I would say that the workload has been pretty heavy, although I believe that is to be expected with graduate classes. Other than this, I have to say my experience with Ashland has been exceptional.

Degree: Teaching
Graduation Year: 2018

I am a non-traditional student at Ashland University pursuing a teaching license. While Ashland boasts a lovely campus, I'm impressed with the academic quality. The Bachelor Plus program is specifically designed for the full-time professional looking to change or enhance career opportunities. The class I am currently taking is relatively small and the teacher is excellent. So far, I'm enjoying the experience and am learning so much!
