Degree: Nursing
Graduation Year: 2021

Mount Saint Mary College is a well known and reputable school in New York's Hudson Valley. I never thought I would ever be a student at such a prestigious school, but when I decided to pursue an advanced degree in nursing I began searching local colleges. I received information from many colleges while attempting to find the best fit for me and my busy lifestyle. Mount Saint Mary College stood out among the rest for me. The school's reputation as a producer of highly capable nursing students was very important to me. Obtaining a master's degree from a 100% online college did not feel comfortable to me, but Mount Saint Mary College offers hybrid programs that allow adult learners to complete coursework partially online and partially on campus. This was an incredible feature for me, as many other schools were either completely online or completely campus based. Because I live in Pennsylvania, but work and now go to school in New York, I needed a program that was able to limit my commuting time and cost. Courses vary, but typically meet monthly to provide on campus relationships, support, and lectures. Other coursework is completed online in various forms, including but not limited to quizzes, papers, projects, and group discussions. The flexibility and technological abilities of this program was important to me as a working registered nurse, but that was not what sold me on Mount Saint Mary College. When I interviewed for the first time at the college, I could feel an immediate sense of empowerment that I had never felt anywhere else. All of the faculty I've encountered at the college have been uplifting, encouraging, caring, and personally interested in student's lives and career goals. I knew from the day of my interview for the FNP program that Mount Saint Mary College was the right school for me. Since then, I have started my graduate studies toward a master's degree in nursing and have enjoyed every moment since. Faculty are there to advise and assist students whenever necessary, and have proved to be a major source of inspiration to me and my future career.

Degree: Elementary Education
Graduation Year: 2017

I attend Mount Saint Mary College as a graduate student in Childhood Education (1-6) and Special Education. Though I only just completed my first year, my experience thus far has definitely been worthwhile. The professors in the Education program are all understanding, knowledgeable, and approachable. I have found no issues with seeking help from my professors. As a teacher, it is important to learn how to teach in a classroom. At The Mount, grad students' spend their class time in an elementary school, interacting with students and creating lesson plans. This, in my opinion, is the best way to learn how to become a teacher. As with every school, there are some cons. One big one for me is that I wish there was some sort of orientation for graduate students. I had to figure out my personal MSMC website (my.msmc.edu) on my own. I wish there was an Education department orientation, where all requirements and tests (and when to take them) were explained. The course catalog is listed on the website, however it does not match what my professors have given me, and it is very difficult to find. Overall, I am happy to be getting my Master's Degree at Mount Saint Mary college. I feel that what I learn here will be of great use to me in my future teaching career, and I am looking forward to continuing and completing my studies.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2015

I am a Counseling Psychology graduate student at the MSMC Doheny Campus (which was not an option on the pull down tab) and I have to say it was a great decision! I absolutely love the program, totally worth the money. The classes are in the evening which allowed me to keep working full time. Classes are small and intimate. The professors are truly invested in your education. Its hard to pick cons! The neighborhood it is in isn't ideal but I have never had an issue with safety. Also the internet can be a bit whacky but other then that its a great school and program.

Degree: Physical Therapy
Graduation Year: 2015

The pros of my program are the quality of teaching from full-time and some adjunct professors, the competitive nature of the program compared to programs and the intensity of the program in terms of learning.I also feel that by keeping in contact with adjunct faculty improves my career opportunities. The pros of my program are affordability and lack of quality teaching from some of the adjunct professors.

Degree: Early Childhood Education
Graduation Year: 2016

Mount Saint Mary encourages academic achievement by fostering creativity in the minds of each of their students. In a program that focuses on teaching, the professors encourage students to think "outside of the box" to create a successful classroom environment of their own. The small campus makes it easy for professors and students to connect. I never feel like I am just a number. As a commuter student, it is usually difficult to find parking. I wish there were more spaces for commuters. And of course, Newburgh is not exactly the safest city. The outskirts of campus are not where you want to find yourself for a long period of time. Just driving through is enough. Overall though, Mount Saint Mary College's education program is excellent.

Degree: Psychology
Graduation Year: 2016

Mount St. Mary's is a small institution, and for me, that is beneficial to the quality of learning one has. As a master's program, the curriculum is rigorous, thus preparing students for a successful future as a therapist. The surrounding neighborhood is sort of historic with very little options for safe living. However, the campus ensure security and safety for all students, in addition to the communal and family environment.

Degree: MBA
Graduation Year: 2012

Mount Saint Mary`s Colllege offeres an MBA program that challenged everything I knew - making my grow tremendoeously both as a student and a leader. The Professors were, and still are supportive of each cohort`s wellbeing. The MBA program parallels that of any first and second tire school with less fees. I also believe that but for the support of Professors and the members of each cohorts dynamics, the dropout rate would have been high. One`s cohort transformed into lifelong friendships. It would be an even better program if more scholarships were available for women with children in the MBA program. Overall, getting my MBA degree from Mount Saint Mary`s College was one of the best educational decisions I made.
