NYU is a great university, but they offer poor financial aid for graduate students. I graduated with a MS in Mathematics from them in 2015, but went back to obtain a PhD in Mechanical Engineering (dynamical systems/control theory specialty). I'm considering switching to another school, however, due to the lack of financial support.

Best s school I could have gotten into best teachers friendly but competitive. Made me want to be a better student and person from what they taught me.

Overall, NYU poly classes are demanding but the value of the education is tremendous. As for money, they are very generous with scholarships but it takes hard work to keep the GPA requirement. The school is highly diverse with many international students but it's in downtown brooklyn which is a great area to live. The ease of getting in and out of manhattan allows for a great cultural experience to go although with the educational one.

The school is trying to set standards which is a good sign of a growing academic institution.

Poly become more and more competitive in the recent years since it combined with NYU. And I enjoy my life in study in NYU-Poly!
