The pros of my program are that it is truly a professional degree program in that it prepares you for a career in the field of public service of your choosing. Another pro is the faculty and staff who are all dedicated to public service and the fact that the program is based in New York City gives student a lot of access to great career opportunities. Being located in New York City can also be a con for the program because of how expensive the cost of living is. Also there doesn't seem to be much financial assistance provided to international students.

New York University is one of the most independent and resourceful environments a student can be placed in. The culture and networking opportunities are endless. With a vast student body it becomes difficult to adjust for some students, however scenery like Washington Square Park, bring life to the school.

I have enjoyed my experience at Wagner immensely. I have found all of my classes interesting and engaging. It is clear that the professors care about the school and their students I am equally impressed with the career services, alumni network, and quality of my colleagues. The one thing that could be seen as con, is the high cost which I think limits the diversity of the student body, and may limit the career choices of post graduates (in order to pay off high fees).

I am confident that obtaining a MPA at Wagner will provide me with a grounding in nonprofit management and policy that will be crucial to my ability to strengthen my leadership, management and advocacy. At Wagner, I will have a unique opportunity to learn from practitioners who are leading scholars in a variety of disciplines while exploring innovative strategies, best practices, and bold new concepts in the public service arena. Its course schedules are flexible and will accommodate my busy professional and personal schedules, providing me with the opportunity to continue working while simultaneously realizing my academic aspirations. At the same time, the increase cost in regards to tuition related expenses had made it so difficult that I had to defer enrollment to enable me opportunity to explore alternative funding opportunity.
