College taught me to finish something difficult that I started, how to be organized, and how to grow into a real adult.

University of Central Arkansas was a true blessing to me. Being from Nebraska, I was an out-of-state student during my dietetic internship at UAMS. After living in Arkansas for a year, I was ready to go back home, but I also wanted to complete my master's. All of the credits I had earned from my internship transferred to UCA, allowing me to complete my degree there. The remaining classes I needed were all offered online, so I was able to work full time while completing my master's. It was definitely a difficult process to get started; all of the back and forth with the admissions office and advisors, but when it came down to it, it was so great to have my master's completed in such a fast, convenient way. It was also a less expensive alternative to staying with UAMS, or having to re-do all the classes I had already earned credit for if I were to go to a school back home.

I enjoyed my entire experience at UCA. Conway is a town that's not too big, but not too small. I made lifelong friends while enrolled in college there. The professors are very caring and work with you.

Degree: Occupational Therapy
Graduation Year: 2018

The University of Central Arkansas (UCA) is a great school. There are a variety of degree programs and extracurricular activities to take part in. I am currently in the program for a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy. The department has been approved for and will begin a Doctoral degree program in Occupational Therapy this Fall (2017). The program has given me great opportunities and is expanding my knowledge of Occupational Therapy and the options that I have for my career. The University itself also offers great opportunities and activities for students to participate in. I am also a Graduate Assistant for the University and I enjoy working for the Service-Learning program in the Department of Outreach & Community Engagement. In my opinion, UCA is a great place to pursue a degree! :)

Degree: Art & Design
Graduation Year: 2019

As a transfer student, one of the best things about University of Central Arkansas is that they try to give students credit for all of their previous classes taken from other schools so that time and money is not waisted to graduate. In the Arts department, the faculty care about their students and form relationships with them. The teachers push the students through challenges, not just with their artwork, but within themselves as artists.

Graduation Year: 2014

I loved that the Family and Consumer Science with concentration in Nutrition Master's program at University of Central Arkansas accepted all of the credits I earned from my dietetic internship at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences/Central Arkansas Veteran's Healthcare Systems. Since I lived out of state and wasn't planning to stay in Arkansas, the advisors and professors really worked with me to make sure I was able to take all my remaining classes needed online. If I were to transfer my internship credits to a school outside of Arkansas, I would have had to retake a lot of classes. UCA made it so easy on me to finish my master's online within a year while I worked full-time in another state. I do feel like my program was fairly easy compared to my undergraduate program, but did build my communication skills with all of the essays and papers, but also with discussion groups and having to do everything from a distance. One thing I do think is needed to help out-of-state or online students would be a timeline of all the documents needed for transfer credits, graduation, etc.

The Physical Therapy program at The University of Central Arkansas is one of the best in the nation. The instructors employ a rigorous and all-inclusive curriculum which allows students to be knowledgeable in all areas of physical therapy and client care.

Degree: Physical Therapy
Graduation Year: 2004

When I graduated, getting your Doctorate in Physical Therapy was a very new and exciting thing, and UCA was on the cutting edge as only the 6th school in the nation offering the DPT. I feel it successfully pioneered the way for other PT programs to grow and expand in our great state of Arkansas. Our PT program always wanted to be the best of the best, offering students the very best opportunities and experiences possible. The faculty were amazingly approachable and honestly cared that you learned the field thoroughly and enjoyed learning. While they did not make the program easy by any means, they ensured the students who "stuck it out" and studied hard really had a passion for their field. We were given many hands-on learning experiences in and out of the classroom to practice our skills with patients in need and many opportunities to volunteer with the surrounding communities. We had instructors who had a strong passion for their jobs and shared their experiences with us to help us learn. We were offered seemingly endless opportunities to work in a variety of settings as part of our hands-on training and were given fair opportunities to go and practice in clinicals where we wanted. The classroom and lab work adequately prepared us for clinical experiences and made me feel confident and comfortable working in new settings with a variety of documentation styles. The experiences and knowledge I gained from UCA's PT program made me a confident new employee right out of grad school. UCA's program would be an exceptional experience for anyone interested in PT school.

I enjoyed college greatly. I was able to receive a survey of multiple disciplines. I loved finding a specialty within my major. It felt like my program was tailored just for me.

It's a wonderful school, diverse in its student body, well rounded with its faculty. Class offerings for most every person, and not so athletically driven as to bypass academic achievements.
