"If you don't want to spend your graduate time in D.C. or New York, this is the perfect place. The careers office is wonderful and thorough, the course material is designed to keep up with current employer trends, and there are plenty of opportunities to network and connect with alum. Also, the students in the international studies program are some of the best, with experiences from PeaceCorps to the corporate world, and plenty of international time. The courses are pretty good--I'm still completing basic requirements so I will get to dive into my concentration starting in the spring and can't wait. The only real setback is the lack of scholarship funding; since it's a private institution there isn't a lot of federal funding and tuition is pretty expensive. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it pays off in the job sector though."

"This is an incredible program; only a few years old, and one of the first of its kind in the United States. It is exciting to be part of something new and very relevant to the humanitarian sector right now. There are some challenges that come with this type of program - for example, two of the core faculty left because they were moving overseas to continue research - but that also speaks to the quality of the people teaching at this university. I would definitely recommend DU and the International Disaster Psychology program."

"I am in the International Disaster Psychology program. Since this specialty is so unique, I am receiving some of the newest, cutting edge training out there on psychological first aid, disaster response, program development and evaluation, and how to be an empathetic and quality mental health clinician. DU's program prepares us domestically through field placements and clinical experiences, and internationally as we spend the summer between first and second year practicing abroad. It has a tightly knit group of alumni that are always passing along job recommendations and opportunities, and is comprised of passionate, experienced, world-renown individuals teaching us. It is a wonderful program, and is an exciting, emerging service field to be preparing for!"

"As a first-year having just started in the fall of 2013, I am still learning the resources available to me-however, I am absolutely impressed with the career center and their abundance of knowledge and provision of a plethora of workshops and seminars to aid students in obtaining the necessary tools to having a successful transition into a career. Also, my fellow students are incredibly well-traveled, intelligent, friendly people who I am excited to work and learn with. My courses thus far have been extremely informative but very manageable at the same time in terms of outside study. In addition, the school brings in a wide range of speakers and events and encourages high community involvement. Overall, aside from the very high cost of the program (as a private institution with limited scholarship funding, it is difficult to afford the degree), I am extremely satisfied with my choice of this program for my studies."

"Faculty are great. I love the evening program. It allows me to maintain a job and go to school, with enough flexibility to allow me to handle both well."

"The DU school of accountancy is exceptional. It runs very differently than the rest of the business school in that the professors design their courses for the purpose of our careers. It is very rigorous and the professors push you, but the payoff is huge. Every person in my class has already signed a job offer nearly 12-16 months before graduation. I would highly recommend this program to any dedicated accounting student."

"This is a great program for working professionals. The workload is manageable and professors understand that students are balancing a full schedule. The course content is relevant and the network, while regional-specific, is enhanced by the school bringing in professors with a variety of backgrounds and larger networks outside of the region."

"First, the location is unbelievable. Even though grad students are busy, we always make time for the mountains. The school is pretty expensive, but that because it is a high quality education with great professors. Each program is highly customizable, and students can focus on the issues and geographical areas that they are interested in."

"Pros: All students in my program work and therefore faculty understand our competing needs to handle school, life, work. Cons: Not a lot of scholarship money available; some weak students are still let into the program."

"I love DU! There is not a day that I regret choosing to attend the Graduate School of Social Work. My professors are passionate about the subjects they teach and inspire enthusiasm in us to take the information we learn into the world with us. Taking into consideration a good size scholarship I received, I am still in debt about $60,000 after one year of loans for tuition and living expenses. But I am positive that the quality of the education that I am receiving matches the cost. DU's Graduate School of Social Work program has provided opportunities to learn more about ways to pay back loans and has also been supportive in helping network with potential employers."

"This is a great school for business students, and they take a lot of pride in teaching the foundations of enterprise and ethics. The faculty and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. It is an expensive program, and therefore scholarships are very competitive. But if you can make it work financially, the school is a great investment and will help you build an impressive network in the business community."

"My graduate program has mostly pros. The accessibility of the faculty, most importantly the career development center, is beyond anything I could hope for. This is a school who is with the student every step of the way offering the best support and an array of activities, groups, conferences and involvements."

"This program is designed to be interdisciplinary. Make sure you are self-motivated to get through all the requirements. While my advisor is wonderful I do know that some other people have not had the experience I have had."

"The program is very expensive, and, unfortunately, sometimes the classes turn out to be duds (although this is far from the norm). The alumni and administration of the school do have excellent connections with the professional world, so there are always interesting events taking place on campus."

"Professors at DU are always willing and available to provide additional support and feedback to students. They make this experience incredible. Also, the surrounding area is beautiful - who wouldn't want to live in sunny Denver, CO? Cost of living is a little bit higher here than other areas, and, while financial aid is awarded, school-related expenses are also a bit overwhelming. However, the program's excellence more than compensates for the financial commitment. I highly recommend DU to all students considering their MSW!"

"I am currently in the Forensic psychology program at the University of Denver and will be starting in August. This is a very competitive and one of few accredited forensic psychology programs in the U.S. The program offers a manageable workload and allows students to take advantage of internship opportunities that are of interest. The program is small and close knit and allows a faculty to student ratio that is very personable. The options for career support are insurmountable as Denver University sets every student up in the program with enough resources and internship experience to progress their career. The field experience is what sets this program apart from any other and allows the student to take any path they choose in this line of work."

"I feel that my graduate program has broadened my view of my field, thanks to the amazing professors and advisers I get the blessing of working with. I feel that I have learned more in a year of my two year program than I did in my of my years as an undergrad or in the field of work I currently work within. I would recommend this University of others who are interested in higher education, and I would 100% recommend my counseling program to others who may be interested in furthering their career."

"The Executive MBA at DU is a great idea. It allows current professionals to further their education in order to obtain higher level positions without having to hamper their employer's schedule. The classes assigned are developed to build upon the foundation and experience that one already has and to make the individual more prepared for the next level of responsibility. The program that DU offers is both challenging and rewarding and allows for several opportunities for team building and executive level decision making. The only con that seems to be is that the school should be ranked higher on several polls due to the quality of both the school and program. The commitment that DU gives their students is impeccable as well as the support that is available."
